I live in New York and am about to buy a used 2008 Ridgeback with 501 miles on it from Addictive Behavior Choppers (Big Dog of Utah). They have send me several pictures of the bike and a two minute video of the bike running. They send me a copy of the title with the VIN number and I but a search on the VIN and it lists a 2008 Big Dog Ridgeback. Also the insurance company came up with the same information when they entered the VIN. They send me a CarFax showing the bike hadn't been in any accidents of any kind. And lastly today I asked for a pictures of the VIN on the bike with todays newspaper with date, a picture of the bike in front of the store showing the store front, and lastly a picture of the rear of the bike with the brake light on.

Is there anything else you guys feel I need to check before giving these guys my money?????

Maybe someone lives in the area and could go look at it for him?
Otherwise it seems like you did your homework.

Oh I forgot to add that a member of this forum, Bushpilot, looked at the bike for me and he said it looks brand new. He even checked under the bike to see if he could find any oil on the frame. NOTHING.

Bushpilot thanks again for looking at this for me too

You are dealing with a dealership everything is gonna be ok. I deal with these guys trough the phone a couple of time they seem to be very good and honest. Plus if a member already saw it is not much more you can do.

You have done all the homework it looks like. The dealer has been great to work with from my experience. Everyone I talk to likes Addicted behavior Chopper In SLC. They have been around for a while and are great with customer service. They are expanding and have just moved into a bigger building, that is great in this economy. They must be doing something right.

I looked at the bike for Bryant and it is in excellent shape. Looks just like new. I dont mind doing that kind of thing and hope in the future when I buy another bike off the east coast someone will return the favor and can look at the bike for me.

Well I just took the first step and put a deposit down on this bike. I already have a loan from the bank because I rather still put there money out there before my own. They send me the pictures I wanted with the bike in front of the store and VIN with today's paper. I can't say no now. Here's two pictures of the bike.

Good job Bryant you are much more cautios than I was. I bought mine sight-unseen from a dealership, got a great bike a good deal and I was very happy. I think the troubles come when you are dealing with sold by owner situations. :2thumbs:

I have to tell you this was very hard to do, but the more I asked the they gave. Between the pictures, the Video, a member checking out the bike, and then more pictures. The deal and the store seems real. Now the really hard part comes next. The waiting for the bike to get here:bang:

I feel your pain man. I bought mine while I was away on a working trip I had to wait TWO FULL MONTHS, before I got home and went to pick it up. I know they were tired of sending me pictures. I had all that time to shop for accessories and have them added. Everytime I had them add something I asked for pictures. It was a long two months. When do you get yours and how is it coming? I know shippers can be an issue, use the same due care there as well. :2thumbs:

Going to be using JC Motors Motorcycle Transport, read a lot of review on them and the dealer also recommended them.
