Buying bike parts at at Auto Zone Sucks

Like I don't know better but it still pisses me off. Its 1am and I just got home after spending an hour in the parking lot of the local pub trying to get my Big Dog Started. Note: A month ago I went to the local Auto Zone to pick up a battery to get on the road $150.00 for an AGM battery. Now I know its not a motorcycle parts store but if your going to take my money it should last longer than a month.
Can any of you guys recommend a top of the line lithium battery who wont let me down. The patrons of the small bar in Crowley Texas stepped up to help me get going to them I send many thanks and will return to buy them a round tomorrow night 6-11-20.

Lots of threads on batteies. Opinions vary. Ive had decent luck with Braille but others not so much. Deka is popular as well. Keep reading and researching. I currently am using a ThrottleX brand with good results.

Same thing happened to me with a battery from Autozone. I wanted it quick so went there and got one I think it only lasted me like 3 months, or what ever period they warranty their motorcycle battery cus it had just expired. I wanted to ride that day so I went to Orielys and bought one from them it lasted me over four years. Just replaced it about 2 months ago with another one from there.

If it only lasted a month was it the batteries fault or a problem with the charging system? I use Deka. The battery post on these are well made. Some other batteries out there there post are thin and will snap off if over tightened. Just curious on the battery thing. I to went to an Autozone store for a battery for my Chopper. Had good luck with it. Sold the Chopper few years later with the battery.

O'Reilly sells the 20lb battery and it's the same as a Deka/HD battery (East Penn I think). I've got one in each of mine and going on 2 years no issues. If you buy it online and pick it up you can usually snag a coupon too. About $110 OTD. Keep them plugged into a battery tender all the time and they should last 5 years.

Amazon sells them pretty cheap about $90 and it ships from a battery supplier so you know it's fresh! I've ordered a few and always have a manufacturer date within the last 1-2 months.

I've had the Braille battery and it didn't last any longer than the Dexa so more than double the price I would expect it to last twice as long. 2-3 years out of the Deka easy and at $90 a pop just replace every 2-3 years to not have any issues is worth it. Some guys that ride a lot just buy a new one every year as they figure for the $100 to ride all year without ever having a battery issue is worth the price, I am a more of a cheap ass, lol.

To AutoZone's credit they refunded the full amount without much argument. Thanks everyone for your recommendations!

I'm using a Duracell that I picked up at Batteries and Bulbs (far as I can tell its a Deka/East Penn) Comes with 2yr warranty, 10% discount if you order online and pick up in store and they are everywhere if you have an issue away from home.

Braille fan myself. I tried interstate, well they suck in the cold. my ole scooter has had a Braille in it since, might be pricey, but a long way from home pushing sucks worst or towing home is more pricey. They used to give big dog folks a discount that was pretty good. call em and whine like I would do :)

But spark plugs there. That’s about it. And a horn kit to pass inspection. My horn has not worked since 2009!

Get AAA plus RV for when on the road -- has saved my butt more than once over the years when the SHTF.
Plus RV will tow you up to 100 miles, Premiere RV will tow you 200 miles.
