ITs the same...It's not house of kolor, its PPG...BDM has captured the wrong code...if you mix the base coat according to that code, it's Blue.... The top coat is right...So far it has cost me some time and money...

Man, not fun. I looked back at my chart and it looks like someone just randomly put House of Kolor by that one, so it confused me. I called my paint dude and he said that he just gets with the paint company and they help him out with it...Good Luck and sorry I wasn't any help!

Mistakes happen, but BDM should have QC'd the code prior to sending it out...THe dealers got the wrong code too...

Well Just comfirmed it from BDM (Parts)...Certain bikes paint codes were recording in error....Burnt orange was one of them...Fortuntately for me I have did some trial and error to get the right color...Painters beware of BDM paint mis-up!:bang:

This confirms my theory of how BDM went under...The lack of Management...They had the talented workers, just management sucked! Success and failure of an organization is always linked to the Leadership!

:bang: That's the same PPG Paint Code I was given. If it isn't right, I am glad I didn't have to paint anything yet:angry:

Well, I had to eat $150 dollars worth of paint because BDM and the Dealers gave me the wrong paint code for Burnt Orange...BDM parts blaimed it on the painters...I blame management...Anyway....After color matching my burnt orange K-9, the PPG colors to use is: Brickyard Red Metallic (Base Coat) and Sunset Red (Top Coat)...Three coats of the top coat will give you a 99% match...BDM was no help...They wasnt even aware they had the wrong code and since they fired all the painters, they cant began to fix the issue...They suck right now:down:

Alright,

Makes more sense to me that my color is closer to red than orange. If I remember right, DoubleD told me it was a Red Metallic to begin with.

Thanks a bunch for the info and sorry to hear you had to go through all the pain. Let's see, right click, print!!!

Done. Now to get my battery covers to a painter for my repaired "ears" and see how it looks.:whoop:

Well airbrush Ed has my tank right now and the paint codes BDM gave me and him are not correct!! Ed has had some of the other painters look and see what it really is and no one can figure out what they mixed with the candy apple red.

This is Brandon I ran the paint shop at the end, the deal is all the chiefs where in the wrong spot. We had two different burnt orange colors, but they both went by Burnt Orange.....i know, i know not my deal! The first one is the paint code you guys have which is NOT House of Kolor its PPG. The other IS house of kolor the base is half Gamma Gold half Cinder Red with Tangerine kandy top coat. I have now opened up my own shop. Coops Auto Designs 316-993-1666. Call with any questions. I worked in that paint shop for 8 years. I know or can get ahold of about any color needed.

This is good news! Thanks for providing the info and your assistance Brandon. I was at my local paint shop that claims they can match any color and they came up with some Mazda Orange color. I told them they could suck an egg, wasn’t going to let them paint my tins with that color. I guess the thing that turned me off was them telling me it was hard to match because of the peril that makes the paint pop in the light. I have the O-SO-ORANGE color. I know it's a tri-color and it's by PPG...

O-So-Orange is a PPG Viberance color straight from the book. Its not hard to match if you have the right colors!
