Burn your Thigh?

So the Bulldog is my first air cooled bike and first V-Twin.

I have two ride-comfort items. One is the reach on the pegs, the 2nd is burning my right thigh on the head.

I bought a pair of chaps to try and help, but they don't quite go high up enough on the inside to really protect. I wore them over shorts and ended up with raw skin on the head in a left corner and damn near changed lanes as I jumped to get off the motor.

I have had Zero trouble with pipe-heat, just this one spot on the right hand side head.

Has anyone made a leather seat flap or a shield to keep your leg off the motor? It's definitely one of the sexiest parts of the bike, so I hate to cover it up, but my enjoyment will go up if I don't get burned every 15 miles.

Thoughts?
I made a leather flap to protect my thigh a couple of years ago. Took a scrap of leather and formed an L with it. The cut a square hole in it so it goes where the seat hooks in. I put it on first then hook the seat in to hold it down.
Does the job perfectly. (Now if I could find it to put on the new k-9 I'd be much happier -- might have to make a new one.)
