Buildin a sissy bar

I'm thinking about building a sissy bar for my buddies 06 ridge. I'm wondering how the stock bars mount on these bikes. On my k9 it mounts through they fender struts, but I don't think his has the holes like mine. Anyone have suggestions on how to mount it up? For those who may have done this pictures help a lot if you have any. Thanks.

Anyone know if a sissy bar on a 06 ridge mounts through a hole in the fender stay like most other dogs? My buddies ridge struts doesnt have holes. Does he need different struts?

the sissy bar ready struts were not standard items until about mid-year '07. before that they were optional. more than likely, your buddy will have to find some of the correct struts or do some questionable engineering practices. check with "bigdogpartsking", who is a site sponsor here. he may have a set. (key word *may*) remember, struts are year and model specific in most cases.

I though about doing that, but would prefer some "sissy bar" ready struts as it would be easier to make and have a much cleaner appearance.
