So is the trans mounting plate something you hand fabricated or did it come out of another bike?
You can buy weld in plates actually. Something like this would at least get you started.

Nice work Eric. It's like breathing new life into an old dog. What color is the paint?
It's a matte black with metal flake in it. In the sun it looks lighter more like a denim harley, if it's cloudy it's darker.

I didn't do straight gloss black cause I already got two of them. Thought about Satin Black but settled on a matte.

Matte is a tough color, you can't buff it, polish or wax it. It's like a pair of jeans when it wears there's no saving it. So will see how long it lasts, I can always repaint it.

Ha ha i had a buddy of mine bought a matte finish harley few years back....he and i where working at his dads house on the rock crawler we was building and we decided we was going to go riding so he called his wife and told her to get ready for a bike ride that we would be home in a couple of hours....well while we was gone she decided she would wax it....with this being said he had only had this bike 4 days lol....anyway she had put wax all over it and then was going to come back and wipe it off and she hit panic mode cause it wasnt coming off...we pulled up and she was crying....damn it was funny....it was charcoal grey that now at this time it was basically light gray and in some places damn near white lol...so we jumped in the truck and went and got carburetor cleaner....we got it all off and that ended her motorcycle cleaning days....hell he laughed to but she said im not cleaning another bike ever.....

Yeah but imagine how well that wax would have protected it -- and he'd have known where the wax was missing and needed to be re-applied!

Great job Eric ( no surprise) .

You applied vision, skill, knowledge, expertise and your commitment to quality. To name a few .

(I can talk this way cause I'm a old fart ) :D

Great looking bike , like all aspects including springer , tank , rims and 140 !

Awesome inspiration and demonstration of what's possible !

Here is a little under the hood shot porn for your Saturday night.

I wanted to try the new m-unit. It's a good unit but the with the amount of work to build a custom harness plus the additional cost to solve the rear tail light/blinker/turn issue..Ill leave our the details, because I really can't recommend this unit over what is our there now. Axles EHC is a bargain and a half. If we were still in stuck back in the old Wires Plus days I would consider this. Lol

The new m unit (version 2) has push-in style connectors. the original munit was screw in connectors. While I haven't had any issues yet I just wonder if they will become problematic. I have been looking at the munit for 5+ years and saw this change to push-in and I just never had a reason to try it. I figured on this bike what the hell, I had already looked into it and spent enough time thinking about it figured I would check it out.

I suppose it's a little easier to diagnose issues as the app tells you any faults/shorts and on what circuit.

Only nice benefit to this unit is an integrated Bluetooth Interface with an alarm function. You can set the alarm on an app on your phone to a light/medium/severe mode. It will sense if the bike tires start rolling on the light mode, severe is a little too much. You can set it up to send you notifications via the app.

While riding from Eric's to the farm in Arkansas, I had the pleasure of riding the new bike for about 60-70 miles. The cornering with the springer front end was tight and the turning radius is far better then the K-9 and the bike also felt much lighter and easy to handle. This bike had so much power with the 140 cubic inch motor, that while riding the engine had no trouble at 75-80 and that was in 5th gear. never made it to 6th. What a ride. Thank you for allowing me to ride this great creation.
