Here is a little under the hood shot porn for your Saturday night.
I wanted to try the new m-unit. It's a good unit but the with the amount of work to build a custom harness plus the additional cost to solve the rear tail light/blinker/turn issue..Ill leave our the details, because I really can't recommend this unit over what is our there now. Axles EHC is a bargain and a half. If we were still in stuck back in the old Wires Plus days I would consider this. Lol
The new m unit (version 2) has push-in style connectors. the original munit was screw in connectors. While I haven't had any issues yet I just wonder if they will become problematic. I have been looking at the munit for 5+ years and saw this change to push-in and I just never had a reason to try it. I figured on this bike what the hell, I had already looked into it and spent enough time thinking about it figured I would check it out.
I suppose it's a little easier to diagnose issues as the app tells you any faults/shorts and on what circuit.
Only nice benefit to this unit is an integrated Bluetooth Interface with an alarm function. You can set the alarm on an app on your phone to a light/medium/severe mode. It will sense if the bike tires start rolling on the light mode, severe is a little too much. You can set it up to send you notifications via the app.
