keep an update on your pipes. interested on difficulty of drilling holes, being that your drilling on round surface. my vh pipes have 2 heat shields, im thinking about drilling just the end section. then rechroming them and paint the pipe black. thanks

Well from last week... a post from my other forums...

Worked on drilling out the heat shields. Picked up a real nice irwin bi metal hole saw chuck & 1.25" hole saw and busted out the big boy drill.



Drilled out a piece of cardboard to help with using the center punch


The heat shield jig or backing plate


Took a few tries to get the right technique and the drill bits paid the price.


Got the first one done


the 2x4 is working well


Did the 2nd one and cleaned up the metal burrs with a flat & rat tail file. All ready for powder.


I can't wait!!!

Old Tom Chop Has had a long relationship with Brown`s Plating. My first plating experience was in `72 when I had some cases chromed on a 1972, H2 Kawi, and boy did Ronnie`s boys lay it on. The cases absolutely sparkled white, silver, and blue in the light; so cool. Man that brings back memories. Young Tom Chop was- - - but I digress.
Top Notch Work - - IMHO.
