Broken primary inspection plate

Anyone ever heard of a broken primary inspection cover plate? Mine cracked at the top two corners and is in need of replacement for hemorrhaging fluid.

Is this an anomaly or a symptomatic indicator?

Almost routine...I'm on my third one.....see the Baker website or maybe Bigdogpartsking.
I think torque is 9ft lbs...I think I started at about half that and increased a bit if it seeped. Do make a point to use your torque wrench in a star pattern....
Too bad they use that cheesy aluminum...wish there was one of chromed plate steel.

I start at 54 inch pounds. Going to 108 inch pounds per the service manual did not work out for me on my second drive train oil change when the corner cracked.:oldangry: Live and Learn this common problem.

Jon, make sure you have a good torque wrench! Get a digital one, they are much more accurate than the clicking type! And when your torque calls out something like 100 inch pounds you are gonna need accuracy! Be sure to not screw up and mistaken the inch pounds for ft. pounds or you will have a problem! Don't ask how I know! Lol!
