hi everyone! i just bought an 06 mastiff and the speedometer odometer and tachometer aren't working . is this a common problem? any info greatly appreciated!

If you cannot resolve the problem with your speedometer a lot of guys here have gone with the Dakota Digital.
It's a drop in, plug-n-play unit. I have them on the group buy page at this link.

I had a vibration problem that took out an internal connector. Soldered her up and it's back in operation.

I have an 06 Mastiff and I used to have that problem when first bought it (new). The dealer replaced the speedo and speedo sensor and the issue went away for about a week. I said fuck it I don't need a speedo and the dam thing started working again by its self.
Make sure you wait about 10 seconds after you turn the key on before you crank it up. That gives the speedo enough time to makes the sweep from O-60 and back to 0 which you are supposed to do before you crank it up. Sometimes that an issue that new BDM owners don't know. Mine never did give me anymore problems, however, I later decided to buy a Dakota Digital.
