Did a short ride and this here broke about 4 miles from home. Hope Big Dog Parts King has one...guess I'll find out tomorrow.

They might - Its an older dog so parts are scarce.

Curtis can probably fix you up when he is back in a week, weld and re-polish.

I just pm'd bigdogpartskingpin so I will see what I'm looking at. But I'm also curious as to why...and when I pulled it off tonight I saw that the other side is cracked also....they are aluminum so if it ever happens again maybe see about having some made out of steel.

Maybe there was already a small crack in your bracket , if you have a spot that is dark that means you had already a crack there and you dont need much to break the bracket.

I'm certain there was a crack that developed over time. That's what's on the other side right now. I just don't understand why it cracked to begin with I mean I can see there being some opposing forces to some degree from the separate forks, but this is a fiber glass fender and would think the fender itself wouldn't transfer that much of any flex to the bracket. The one thought I had thought was that there is a slight bend in the brackets a 'z' shape and both of them are cracking right at one of those bends so I thought maybe they were already weakened in those areas and the bike that is now 10 years old has vibrated those things to death.

The good news bigdogpartskingpin is going to hook me up.

So first off. I got my new brackets in the mail today.I got to experience the awesome service that everyone keeps talking about from Derek and Donna.

The new bracket does not quite match the old one. The bend in the bracket is not right at the top of the fork lower rather than on the old one where it sat above and was right at about where the 'v' is cut out in the bracket. Maybe this is a redesign and having more meat where the cutout is helps. I don't know that's just me being hopeful but if it holds another 10 years I guess I'll be OK.
