Brand newbie here

Hello all and Merry Christmas, to all, brand new to big dog trying to decide which one to get.... love the look of the ridgeback but not sure about a ridgid
frame bike. I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on how the ride is and if they had any issues with the frame and or bouncing anyone of it. lol I had a 2004 Swift Punisher. Not a bad bike but it looks like it doesnt compare with the BD especially with the RSD. Thanks in advance look forward to learning a lot and getting my first BD. By the way anyone know of a good place to pick one up here in Co.

Merry Christmas to you as well. I can't say much about the Ridgeback 'cept it's one bad ass looking bike. I've got a K9, real close in looks and style to the Ridgeback but a soft-tail. Can't go wrong either way, just my body fit the K9 better, good luck.

hows the ride V? is it pretty stiff compared to say a K9 or a softail

Welcome Newbie....you can't go wrong either way. Same bad ass motors, just depends on how smooth a ride you want. I looked into both and chose a K9, Visit a dealership and ride one of each if you can, then post us a picture of the new love in your life. ENJOY shopping and welcome

There are some that will ride an RB thousands of miles in a few days for Sturgis and some who will not.
The K-9 with air ride may be just what you need.

Welcome! I love my RB. Roads here are great so rigid frame is not bad at all. The frame will flex a bit but still have to watch out for the big pot holes. Will you have a passanger? That could make the decision. Pass will feel the bumps more on the fender I would go to dealership and test ride both k-9 and RB. I love the RB low profile fender also.

I agree with phat on the Ridgeback. I wouldn't have anything else but it fits me better at 6'5". The foward controls make it sit like an old hippy's rocking chair . My wife rides with me a little, but I have to stay on smooth roads, no trail riding. The bumps will shack you if you hit them square on, but you learn to watch for rough places in the rode. The k-9 fits my wife great cause she is 5'10", she just sit on one the other day. I have never rode a K-9, but everyone in here that has one loves them. Ride them both before you make up you mind. Oh, and a chopper doesn't ride or handle like any other scooter I have ever riden. Once you get the feel you will love it.

I love the Ridgebacks. The 330 tire absorbs a huge chunk of the road. As for my self I can ride just as far on my Ridgeback as I could on the last two Road Kings I had

I was facing the same issue as you. I went to Gateway BigDog and test rode a K9 and a Ridgeback back to back in that order. I prefered and bought the ridgeback...

Welcome to the pound. If it were me I would get one with a suspension/softtail. Of course I am an old dog and need a cushy ride. Haven't had a hardtail since my '50 Panhead. It was fun to ride, but hard on the body.
