Brake wires

Replacing the start buttons on my handlebar so a quick question on the brake wire. On my old controller the wires are just glued on and my new controller has a plugin does it matter how the wires are spliced for the plug end

Your original sensor should have been soldered to the board. That adhesive is just there to keep them from breaking loose. In stead of splicing the wires, I would clip the plug off and solder them to the board. Then a drop of glue to keep them in place. The sensor just completes a circuit when it is triggered by the magnet so I don't think it matters which way they are hooked up.

Oops, I didn't see that your new board has the plug. I guess you have to splice them. I take it that your new board didn't come with a new sensor on the other end of those wires?

Oh, in that case, you just need to remove the old sensor, and put the new sensor in. There is a very tiny set screw under the sensor. 0.050" I think. Loosen it up, and the old sensor will slide out. Slide the new sensor in, and turn on the key. Slightly pull the brake lever and slide the sensor in until the brake lights turn on. Tighten the set screw and you are finished.
