Brake caliper help/need?

Lets start by saying this brake job is killing me- originally sticking/dragging front brake- root cause - brake cylinder needed rebuilt - done
Now the problem - during installation - wife snapped bleed screw off - took it to tool shop to get removed - he drilled/threaded too deep and now the new bleed screw wont seal.
So - Options???
A) Purchase new brake caliper - $400 (dont like that)
B) Anyone have a used one for sale - or know of anyone???
C) Can I just bleed brakes and stuff 1/4 bolt in there and nylon washer??
D) Any other possible ideas??

Would love if somebody on here new of a used one for sale??? Please!!

Thanks-
Sam

First off, buy a set of Grabbits. They work great to extract broken things. I don't see why you couldn't use a nylon washer n bolt...? As long as your brake doesn't leak and you can bleed it, you should be good. Hell, find a shiny chrome bolt an nobody will give it a second glance.

Thanks for the reply HMAN, And I changed my Avitar liferider.
Im going to try to bleed the brakes best I can- try 1/4 bolt with thread tape and nylon washer to seal - maybe gravity bleed and extra for a day, and see what I get. Will suck to have to buy a new caliper, but I will be keeping my eyes open for a used one to make it right- long term.
Other ideas or opinion, on this topic, are greatly appreciated.

Just another thought....take the caliper to a brake shop and see if a longer bleed screw would work?

Good idea- I need to look at exactly what happened- I could have the toolshop make a screw as well? I'm really just hoping the bolt works until I can find a reasonably priced used caliper, lol

The problem with bleed screws are the threads. They are designed to seal as well as thread. I would think a brake shop would be able to save your existing caliper and restore complete functionality.

Another idea, I you can't find a longer bleed screw, take it to a machine shop and have them lower the top of the hole with a end mill.

If you can get a solder filled, new bleeder in the hole, extra solder on the nose so whatever drill damage happened, the soft lead will fill it in. The banjo bolt is also a delicate bolt. This too can be used as a bleeder. Gorilla grab or female finesse is let her try this one too. Not joking. Shit happens.
