Braille Battery Warranty?

My 2 year old Braille B2015 battery is done. It will barley turn the bike over, even when on the tender. It worked pretty good for a year and a half, but the last six months it has went downhill fast. My bike starts easy when it turns over good.

I registered the battery for warranty when I bought it but their website and registration card doesn't say how long the warranty is???

Anyone know?

First year is free replacement Mike:),from original purchase date with receipt from purchase of battery.................After that, it is pro-Rated:up:...........guess I'am lucky mine is going on its 3rd year, and my bike lit right off at 5 Degrees the other day in my shop......

Yep, first year is free and second year pro-rated. I sent a Braille back within a year because I thought it was getting weak (I don't think there was anything wrong with the battery in retrospect) and there were no questions asked. Received a new one and been fine every since. It's probably between 2 and 3 years old now.

Thanks all for the info.

I haven't rode any in the last 3 months, so I may wait a couple more till I get a new battery since the weather is going to be bad here for a while now. The DOT also puts salt, sand, and calcium on the roads for the winter....its not something you want to ride on.

I was surprised how quickly the Braille went downhill after 1 1/2 years.

Before the Braille I used a Tomioka Racing battery that worked ok. It got a little weak but never completely died like the Braille.

Has anyone tried a Antigravity Battery? They have top terminals, so I don't know if one will work in a Big Dog.

I had a Braille that went south at the 3 year point -- always on a tender.

I've got a Anti-gravity in the HD currently, but only had it a few months. I take periodic readings on it every couple of weeks and the thing hardly moves in voltage. I'm impressed so far - the thing kicks ass on start-up.

If you decide to go that route, you'll need to consider if your tender would work on it. Then again, you may not need one at all if you ride weekly.

Talk to Curtis at Wild Steed Worx -- He's a guru on these things.

I have an Anti Gravity Pocket version backup battery (Micro Start XP 3) to jump start a weak battery. I use it mainly on my Daytona 675 on those cold winter mornings when its normal battery just can't seem to overcome the high compression and drop in voltage to start the bike. Being in the parking lot looking for a jump on a cold morning can really suck. It does need a special charger which came with the kit. It says it provides over 200 CCA but my test revealed a good 140 CCA at a terminal voltage that I need.

See website at Micro Start XP 3 - Antigravity Batteries

It has the cords, chargers, jumpers, etc in a nice case. It is very light and I take it to work in my backpack. It is my opinion that when a battery starts to get weak, it needs replacing. This is for emergency use in my case. The extra CCAs would probably be enough for a Braille that is getting weak (I guess I’ll find out one day since I have seen a few posts on the Braille going south at the 3 year mark). It has a higher voltage which is important for the spark we need.

I am not against Lithium Ion batteries but I have read not to let them drain. I disconnect my Lithium Ion battery that I just put in my Daytona 675 when not in use because of the slow current sucking computer, etc. I also make sure it gets a charge prior to use which uses a special lithium ion charger.

Boy are they light!

I actually have 3 Micro Starts that I use at home and work. It amazes people when I fire up their cars with one of them. :D

I think Im going to try one of the Antigravity Battery's in my bulldog. Too bad I have to buy a new tender to go along with it.

Mike,

Awesome. I might have to get one of the bigger Micro Starts for the Truck and I can use it on the boat too.

I've been running the Antigravity in my K9 now for a couple of months and I've yet to need a trickle Charger. She just sat for a week and a half without being touched, working 7-15 right now, and I finally got to run some errands on her. I checked the voltage before firing her off. 13.58 volts, not a single volt lost since the last check a week and a half earlier. Not to mention the 720CCAs spin the 124 like there are no plugs in it.
They claim a 6 to 8 year life span, with proper maintenance, but that's going to take some time before I can say with first hand knowledge that its possible.
On top of all this you shed 10lbs.
