BOWL VENT

I know this has been discussed time and again on the forum but just had to ask. I do understand the concept and idea behind bowl vents BUT....I am in the process of installing a Velocity Stack. The manual celarly calls for removing the underside bowl vent when using the stack. Understand that BUT...

1) The Velocity Stack mounting bracket completely covers/blocks the front facing bowl vent..

2) Does one compensate for this by opening up the "under side" bowl vent? or does one have to have BOTH open..

PS. To all those running Velocity Stacks, if you do have a mounting bracket would you know if your FRONT BOWL VENT was covered/blocked by the mounting bracket? (Just trying to understand if I have a badly engineered bracket or not)

Just remove the red circled vent screw, that is al that is needed.

I have the S&S single-Bore Tuned Intake and the vent hole is covered, had to remove the vent plug.

It can still vent from the bottom where you take the screw out.The hole where the screw is goes up and vents where the hole is just inside the throat of the carb. also.

I had a velocity stack on the S&S G and had to remove the screw. You certainly should install a barbed fitting and run a small (3/32") tube away from the exhaust. I found the small parts at the local chain saw repair shop for around $6.00. The parts can also be bought from McMaster-Carr if you can't find'em anywhere else.

Thanks, but am lost. Are you suggesting I run a barbed fitting to the underside bowl vent, connect a tube to that and then route it some place away from the exhaust?

sh8kr do you know the OD size of the vent hole and thread type, and what kind or barbed fitting would you use nylon, plastic alum, brass or stainless.
