Bolt Size for Trans Mount

Was gonna reuse the OEM bolts for the exhaust trans mount but they barely bite when assembling. The original size is 5/16-18 x 1 1/2. Should I go up to an 1 3/4 or 2 in bolt? Anyone else ever have this problem? Thanks in advance for the help.

I would use the 2" if you can seat and apply the proper torque with out bottoming out. The more bite the better!

Thanks V! I was on the BDM Performance site and all I could find was a 1 3/4 or 2 1/4. Do most motorcycle shops have these bolts on hand? Guess I will hit a few up on my way home tomorrow.

I had the same issue with the trans bolt on a set of Phantom exhausts. Ace hardware usually has a good selection of chrome bolts (that's where I picked up a longer one).

Go to Lowes, Home Depot or Ace hardware. They have custom bolt sections. I get a lot of hardware from those stores... :2thumbs:
