Bolt hole?

On the s&s 117, what is the propose of the two bolt holes on the left inside of both cylinder heads (across from the intake manifold)? On my mastiff the front hole is empty but the rear has a bolt in it. Should both have bolts in them? I am assuming these are for engine mounting.

Sorry I thought the thread said BUTT HOLE.

But their there for anything you want to put on there that can handle the heat I saw a custom chopper that had a custom intake mounted on both sides of engines looked different for sure v-twin with dual mikuni’s one on each side. I’m missing one. No big deal.

Ok, obviously mine is carburated. Makes sense. Does it matter if there is a bolt in there or not?

Mine was like yours. Bolt in the rear, but not in the front. If there was a bolt in the front, it fell out. It appears to be just an empty hole, so I left it open. One less thing to fall out.
