I have had four broken brackets on my 07 Mastiff, two on the V&H 2-2 and two on the V&H 2-1. They are obviously are not strong enough. I am going to have one made with a better metal.

I am looking for ideas, I would like to put an isolater between the new bracket and the frame for vibration, approxiatemetly 1/4 inch. material. Anyone have any suggestions on what to use and where to get it

Tanks Bro1, I went to their website, there are a couple of items there that may work, do you have any suggestions on what metal or material to make the new bracket out of.

Don't recall what mine looks like from memory on my 07 Bulldog.

Stick with a mild steel.

You should be able to modify the stock steel bracket to accept several of the ring type isolators. The steel bracket would be the strongest and easiest to rework. It may need to be just narrowed up to allow space for the ring thickness.

Or just use some thick truck mudflap material and hang the pipes at their mount from the chassis mount with some flush head or button head bolts. There are a number different approaches to isolate the pipes.

Moespeeds, the bracket broke at the corners first and then at the the bolts on the frame the second time

I think if you put an isolater between the new bracket and the frame for vibration the pipes themselves will break by the engine.

Kurt, I hadn't thought of that possibility, but I am still going to try and see if a stronger bracket and isolater will help. Here's a interesting side note, I can tell when the bracket breaks, the ride is notically smoother, less vibration.

You might have a loose upper ignition cover/head/motor mount or frame mount bolt. Check them all. It causes vibrations as well when they work loose.
