You know I am sure that Axel's is a great product as is the RIP II kit, when I was needing to replace mine I don't think Axel's was available yet and there were some guys having a few issues with the RIP kit so I made the decision to go with Doc's and couldn't be happier, :whoop::old2: I am sure that both other kits are great choices also, but as I said, all I know is from my experience, and you guys from yours! :old2: now I am sure we have confused the hell outta Rick, :oldcrazy: whatever you decide to do Rick, I am sure one outta the three will do just fine for you. :old2:
You just hit the nail on the head Cdoggy:old2::old2:

If Axels EHC 58 work on your model - Garantee is two years and you can program the ehc module functions like you prefer.
(example flasher lights up 20/ 40 times, brakelight flashes before burn, showblinking and so on.) Maybe the PIC of the connectors is helpful for see it fits your dog? Programming is easy and can be changed more times. For better understanding: I thought wrong in my case - thought my ehc was gone bad - only in my case was another error. - No Critic on your detection. If I would know all, I have another shoes and can walk over the water. Wish good hands for repair your bike.EHC 58.jpg

I would have liked to simply replace 1 plug-in unit instead of rewiring the whole bike with DOC's esc, but I would have always been skeptical about leaving that dodgy excuse for a factory headlight harness in play. By redoing the whole thing, I feel a lot safer riding the bike.

One of the old ones.
  1. Update...no further occurrence, but my speedo was delayed is firing up yesterday when we left Tucson in a chill. After a half hour or so, it flicked on. Interestingly, it did not register the odo miles. when we fueled up, my reading was less than the rest of them.Tomorrow is going to be cold (hi 30's), so I'll have an update.

Seems to have been a fluke occurerence. Didn't happen again on the trip and we got colder weather.

Absolutely -- once that EHC starts to react to cold - its a slippery slope.
If the speedo started not reading might be time to consider a Dakota Digital.
That's how one of my speedo's failed -- Had a cold day coming home from Maryland and would be off, ride a bit it would come on, stop for lunch etc would go off, would come on randomly going down the road.

I've had a series of speedp's between my 2 k-9's and my BMC and I must say that the Dakota Digital has been the best and most reliable (2 of them with NO problems at all)

Looking forward to retirement
Mine was the speedo, then the lights, then the turn signals. We had good days and bad. It's like riding down a gravel road. Your happy your riding but can't wait to get back on stable ground. Replace the EHC because it's not a matter of IF now, it's a matter of when it's going to leave you stranded! Call and order a RIP
