Blinkers and speedo!!!!

I have not dielectric greased anything. I have figured out one thing. Everything works well when I keep the RPM's up, I checked my charging and at idle it is 12.34 volts and when I rev it, I get 14.70 volts so I am thinking I could have a bad battery. I road it yesterday 65 miles and the only time I had issues was when I was at low rpms. So my next guess is to replace the battery. I have reconnected just about everything and all the grounds and connections seem really good other than my break light. I unplugged the connector to them and plugged them back in and thats when they went out so I need to redo it. What do you guys think about the battery being a issue. I was having issues with it a couple of months ago and I kept charging it until it seem to be working but I could have a bad cell.

I know my post always run on when I type, I am not skilled at spelling and sentences, I SUCK at it. I also make them pretty boring so sorry for all those who have to read my boring ones. Anyone know if my battery could cause my issues? I checked my charging and it is at 12.56 at idle but when I am up with the RPM's it is 14.70. My problems all go away when I am at high RPM's. I had issues with the battery but all seemed okay until now. It starts up every time. I remember in one of my post a few of you guys said I shouldn't jump start it with a running car and I think I had already done that but all was okay. At this point it starts up every time but I know the battery isn't 100%. Any thoughts?

12-1/2 volts at idle should not cause any problems, the electronics should work down to about 11-1/2 volts, as long as they are in fact getting that much.
yes, your battery could still be bad, but it don't sound like the problem to me. but you can take it to an auto parts store and have them do a load test on it to see if it is bad or not.
does your speedo go off when the blinker bulbs comes on, then come back on when the blinker bulbs goes out? that would indicate a low voltage condition because the blinkers are using more than it has to give. check the voltage while idling with the blinkers on and see how much it drops when the blinkers are on.

At what RPM is it putting out 14.7 volts? it should put more than 14 at around 1500 RPM and by 2000 RPM it should be maxing out at about 14.7.
At what RPMs does your problems go away? if these two RPM numbers are not the same then it is not a voltage issue, something is only working when it gets vibrated hard enough.
If they are the same then it is a voltage issue and you have some resistance somewhere keeping the electronics from getting full voltage. this resistance could be coming from bad wires or connections, or could be from inside the electronics themselves (meaning they need replacement).
if you're not getting 14 volts till something like 3000 RPM, then either your voltage regulator or your stator is going bad.

Thanks Bearman, good info. I had my Stator replaced last year agter my rotor broke. I do see that its very wet where it plugs into the engine and it seems loose. I took it off and cleaned all the oil out of it but I am able to move it a hair back and forth. I believe when I turn the blinkers off my speedo starts to work. No matter what when I touch the blinkers it can cause the speedo to jump but at higher RPM's everything is ok. At low to mid it can be a problem but since my POS Chopper has a RPM gauge and the pin just broke in half and isn't set at zero when I start my bike I have no clue what RPM I am running. I do know I messed up my break lights but now that I have the wire diagram I will be able to fix them, I see the wires I did unplug and plug back in, it was the Orange one, I will have to recheck them. Thanks
