Bike you wished you kept

I have had a lot of bikes over the years. This is the one I wished I would have kept for no other reason than posterity. It was the last yr for the 650. It was a Bonneville and in those days, as today, you pitched the stock mufflers. Had I kept the mufflers, today they would probably bring what I sold the bike for in 77.

I wish I had been able to keep my 03 BD Prosport... it was a limited run they did and only made 4 like it, the VIN was 000001.

1970 Yamaha dt 360. High compression head, Hooker expansion chamber, compression release. Break your leg if it kicked back. Sold it about 10years ago. Great wheel stand machine.

Hey Coach - One bike I had when I was 14 or 15 years old was - now don't laugh - a Honda S90. Used it for a paper route until the cops found out...
It was almost silent which was important for an early morning paper route and lasted an entire week on one tank of gas. Gas was 25 cents a gallon which really sounds good now and dates me big time. Remember gas wars? Sometimes it went to 19 cents and bread was a nickel a loaf... Had to finish the route with a bike. Later on, I jumped to a 250 Honda Scrambler so I could zip down the side of railroad tracks and loose the cops. Fun times when you are young and you can explain it away with "kids will be kids." All of the interactions with the local cops started when they chased my brother and I on a go-cart, up & down the streets around the neighborhood. From the 250, I got more road serious with a 750 Honda chopper which took 2nd prize in the Auto Boat Speed show in the day. That was the fastest bike on the road until Kawa came out with the 1000cc models.

Down memory lane with a pic of the S90 and 750. I did not keep a picture of the 250, wish that I had.

My first new Harley was a 1979 superglide the first winter I made major changes to it I put a wideglide frontend with a 21" tire on it a solid aluminum wheel with a 15" car tire on the rear way before fat tires were cool. Ran the pisss out of it for six years and sold it and I have missed it every since.

1974 Kawi 900 Bad little bike and still cool to see one in mint condition. Had alot of fun back then. I still run into guys i rode with back then and the remember when stories start coming out. Wierd how we all remember details from 25 years ago when it comes to riding

My 64 Pan head- My birth year Harley.
Had to sell it to up grade. regret it evrytime I see a Pan .
Due to construction and a few motorcycle/snowmobile accidents I culd no
longer kick start the bike. Its the last year for the kick start only.65 had both eletric and kick. Sold it and bought my first Roadking back in 98.

x3 on the honda z-50. It went thru about 6 relatives until we were too big for it, then to a family friend. I wouldn't be surprised if its still going now!
