bike wont shut off

i just inherited 2005 big dog electrical problem.. when i first bought it the previuos owner had a toggle switch to kill the motor an some reason now that dont even work.. anyone run into this kind of problem.. Also oil light stays on all the time

Wow...you might be the first person to hop on here and say your bike runs but cant shut if off!! :lol: Most guys come on here and their first post is "won't start" so think of it this way you are ahead of the game

I'm going to guess the Mickey Mouse toggle switch connections are loose therefore it doesn't work no more. When you turn the key off the bike doesn't turn off?

I'm going to guess the guy has the toggle switch hooked directedly up to the thunderheart ignition? So your Run/Off button no longer functions correctly. Interesting part will be why did he do that in the first place? Bad hand control switch? Bad Connection/Wiring? EHC taking a dump?

just unplugged the 2 connectors to the EHC and found the 1 connection with some corrosion.. think maybe your right about the ecm taking a dump

key switch doesnt turn it off i have to pop the clutch or pull tthe plug wires

Always leave the EHC to last resort, try to troubleshoot everything else first. Because if its anything other than the EHC replacing it with a new one or Wire Plus or PDM upgrade wont help ya out.

If you got corrosion on your EHC plugs take em off use a toothbrush and scrub em clean then pack the connection with di-electric grease and reconnect. :2thumbs:

What about the keyswitch will that turn the bike off atleast?

nope key switch does nothing
