I recently had a rude awakening. My bedroom is over the garage. I was sleeping when i awoke to a noise. Then the sound of an alarm. Then nothing, then again, a few seconds later and again....

Ran to the garage to hear my bike trying to start, about a second at a time. The key switch was off, I pushed the off switch, and obviously the start switch was not being pushed and it still continued to pull the starter solenoid in. The bike was in gear so I had my wife hold the clutch while i removed the battery.

Any ideas???

The start button is not active until the run button has been pressed. sounds like the EHC or a short providing the ground signal to the EHC that normally comes from depressing the start button.

Thanks for the links! I will park in neutral from now on. I guess if the ehc is bad i will spend the $700 and get the new harness and relays.

Do u have a slam button?

I had the nut come on the inside of the button and it was contacting the solenoid, not good.
