Bike throwing up!

Shit!
Trip didn’t start too well!
Halfway to Miami bike figured it is good idea to breath all the oil out rather than circulate it... what the fuck causes that

Need to call a tow truck to take bike back home and borrow friends bike... that sucks

Clean it up and see where it's coming from. May be as simple as a push rod tube leaking.

I did call a tow truck, no time to look into it now, friends are flying int Miami tonight... I just drop the bike to shop near me and let them look into it while I ride with friends Ultra. Maybe I can switch bikes in the middle of our road trip...

Its from sitting. My 03 did that after sitting. Oil can pool in the crank case. You should be fine. Check the valve in the breather line between the jugs. That vavle can get get gummed up. You can take it out and use some break clean to clean it out.

That was my first thought, that puking should happen right when you start the engine, not after 60 miles ? Bike actually did kind of same thing but lesser once about a year ago after 300 miles ride. Then I thought it was just breathing after heavy ride (90-100 mph) on highway

Anyways, I’m at the beginning of 1000+ miles trip... don’t want to ride thinking whats causing this all the trip... or damage the engine...

Look like its puking out of the breather based on how high the oil is getting up to the seat and struts!

I think JR is right you could try running to a auto parts store and getting a new vacuum breather on that rear head. Bring the old one into the auto parts store tell the guy behind the counter to match it up and they cost about $2-3.

Remember the front cylinder SUCKS the Rear BLOWS on the 117. So if you take that vacuum connector out you should be able to blow with your lips but not suck. If you cant feel the air coming out when you blow you know it's bad.

That looks like what the Evo 107s do whenever the oil reservoir is over-filled. It essentially discharges the excess oil through the breather tube at the air filter. I have not heard of it happening with the 117s.

This sounds really plausible.

Not necessarily. Pressure must build in crank case to push it out...and if the vavle is stuck....it can open inadvertantly and allow the flow out.

Could be, the engine is running just fine... I don’t expect anything disastrous, just don’t have time... have to be in Miami tonight

Yep I think it's one of two things either check ball is stuck open in the oil pump so keeping your crank full not allowing cylinder heads to bleed down or the check valve in the rear head. Should be an easy fix once you have time.
