Yeah I know , what else is new

So I start with the simple stuff ( check grounds ) etc and looks good there.
So I decide to take the battery out and get a closer look at the EHC .
I pull the orangish rectangle box out and at the bottom of the box that actually holds it in place , there's two screws coming up from the bottom rubbing the bottom of said "orangish rectangle box" and both screws have ate a hole through it . The screws look to serve no purpose , no clue to why their even there .

Replace this "box" alone or go ahead with wires plus ??

No issues at all with EHC before this .

ThAnks in advance

I feel for ya bro. I'd grind off the top of the 2 screws and silicone the holes up and see how that works. You might get away cheap.

I just bought my 2004 chopper 11 days ago and have the wire-plus system ready to be put in because of all the threads on here about wiring problems.

I bought my bike to ride not work on so the money put into the wire-plus is worth it to me. If your ECH is bad and mine will work for ya just give me a PM.
Good luck!

I can't give 395.00 for another Headache down the road .

Is there any difference in these things , I see on their site one like mine ( orangish one ) and a black one ?

my recommendation would be the RIP from Kansas Motorcycle Works. not from personal experience (my EHC is still going strong) but i think i would trust Ohmster before i would trust a completely different company. seems like wire-plus, M1, and the rest have also had problems that were not ironed out before production.

I to would go with the RIP kit. Your going to be $400.oo in already. I have the PDM kit and its worked good for 3 years now. But if the HCI goes out I'm back to where I started. The Wire Plus seems to have problems for some and customer service seems to be lacking. I don't know enough about the M1 kit to make a call on it. I know a shop in Little Rock Ar that has installed a few of the RIP Kits and they like them better than the Wire Plus or PDM kits. :zz2cents:

Do the dielectric grease fix on the EHC connectors. Seal the broken off stud holes in the EHC box. Place some sort of foam tape cushion on the EHC mounting tray to protect against vibration and tie-wrap the EHC back into place.
