I use the red Craftsman like you have with a little help from a 2x4 on my Pit. Got it barely used and cheap.

Harbor Freight here, gotta use a 10 lb plate to get it under the bike, but hey for $100.00 it's worth the little bit of effort to back it up on the plate, once on the jack then I slide my "home made" stand under it cause I don't trust it sitting on a Harbor Freight jack for very long. bike stand 1.jpg

Yea, well you are still relying on the bolts and welds to hold up, remember it's from harbor freight, I had a vision of coming home and finding the bike on the floor so I came up with that idea, works great when working on the bike cause you can pull the jack out and you have access to everything.

Lol.. yeah someone mentioned a Harbor Freight one earlier in this post, all I get from harbor freight is bits for my drimmel.. they have a pretty gnarly kit for like 20 bucks.. aside from that I have never really used harbor freight.. but yeah that's a good idea:old2:

When I first built it everyone loved it, course some think it should be taller, which I would do if I made another one, I actually thought of making a adjustable height one that way you could set the height for your needs, really would like to market the damn thing, just don't have the money or the knowledge to do it, I think it might sell, who knows, maybe....

I bought one of these cheap and simple, love it. Park the bike on it after every ride. I paid more for mine a couple years ago.

I use that on my table lift..wouldnt trust it doing any serious work on it or even a tire change. No way to strap the bike down.

I put that under the bike on the table lift to jack the bike up to get under it or rear tire off the lift. Either way bike is still strapped to the lift.

And here I thought I was the only member without a lift table.... Jacks are nice and it will get the job done, but a lift will just make any job so much easier and safer. Thanks for the link to that scissor jack on eBay Vette, I'll get it unless I find one in Daytona tomorrow.

I have both. Once you have a table lift you won't want to work to anything else. Has nothing to do with the table it just the height.

It's also much safer. When I had to get the pinion nut off the engine shaft I had to put all my weight into the impact gun to keep the socket from slipping off. That nut only has two flat sides. No idea why they don't use a fricken regular nut. I wouldn't have been able to get that nut off using a different style lift.

I know. In my racing days we brought a table with us in the bus. Been missing it ever since. Hopefully I'll find a good deal in Daytona.
Should be able to. I know you are tight on space in that garage as we all are.

If Kendon is there check out their StandUp chopper lift. I'd be curious to see it before I buy it, and how stable it is fully extended. It goes up to 32" which is actually 2.5" taller than mine. My next lift id like to find one that goes up to 38-40" actually. Weaver makes a lift that has 42" height which is just awesome.

I believe this too be my next table lift when time comes.

I started a new thread on the subject so as to leave this one to jacks.

I like the stand and looking around the shop for scraps now to build one. Thanks John.
