i use Geico, these big inch motors make the insurance cost fairly high compared to the past bikes I've owned. 35 no accidents or tickets. Fl. 1k a yr. They were the best when I checked around I carry high limits also.

Get it catagorized as a CRUISER, not a SPORT BIKE and you'll save alot!

"NO HELMET LAW" states have higher insurance rates, like AZ.

You guys are all complaining about your insurance rates being high. My insurance in Canada is government controlled. There is no competion. I've got an excellent driving record and my insurance for a 07 K9 is $2317.00 for the year and i only get to drive for about 5 months. I've got $500 deductible and the bike is insured for $40,000.00 to cover all the taxes i had to pay. There is no rembursment for the months you can't ride. So count yourselves lucky with your rates.

I could only wish it was 600 a year. Here in Florida no helmet law as well as Florida being the number one state that motorcycles get stolen and year around riding they get you.

I use State Farm and it has been very good for me. Rates on insurance will very so much and many times there are so many factors that will effect prices. In my case, I have all my insurance from house to cars to life with State Farm, so I am getting excellent rates, but such may not be for someone else who may only go with MC insurance with them.

Shop around and make sure you ask for apple to apple comparrison.

Woah! 24, no tickets, state farm.

964/year

500 deducts full coverage with stated added value of 15k (got lotsa bolt ons)

I do get multi this that and the other thing which saves a TON. When I turn 25 in august it goes down to 430/year!

I have been using State Farm for the last 10 years and have my cars(2), house and both bikes. 1989 Ninja is $9.00 a month and the 03 Pitbull is $35.00 a month. I don't think that is bad at all.

Bottom line from the previous thread - insurance costs vary a LOT, from state to state and company to company. There does not seem to be any particular pattern or rationale. Shop around and get a lot of quotes. Personally, I was surprised to find how inexpensive Geico was, and went with them. Progressive, for example, was 3 times as much, and they actually thought they were competitive. BTW, Geico was the first company that didn't say, "HUH?" when I told them it was a Big Dog motorcycle.

toomanybikes

not enough time 4 riding
I had State Farm for my Yamaha and Harley and my trailer, as well as the car , truck , and house, but they screwed me on the trailer rate. I went to Progressive and insured the trailer and the two bikes for less than State Farm was charging me for the two bikes and got more coverage. The first year with the Mastiff was steep, but this past year the total for the three bikes and the trailer was about $1200.
