Best thing to do is get it into the dealer and have them work thru the issue with the factory. That being said we can start to eliminate things it shouldn't be with a little more information. Get yourself a pencil and paper to record information. Go out to a road with little to no traffic. Ride the bike till you get it to fail. Do not touch the off/run button or the key switch. Pull over to the side of the road and remove the set. Tell me what lights are light or blinking on the EHC and also what lights you see on the ignition module (mainly is the red light on or off on the ignition module). Do a walk around of the bike and note what all the lights are doing. Once your record all the information hit the start button to see if the starter will engage. If it does and it starts get it home and let me know what you recorded. If it does not start then hit the run button and try again. If it start get home and post, if it does not cycle the key and then get home and post.
Great info Thanks . I really appreciate it . Had to take the wife out for the afternoon or I would of had this done for ya . Got home late but will do on Monday. I think I will take it right to wichita to get the work done . I really dont ant to go long with out it . Lots of good rides comming up soon . Maybe if I take it there I will not have to deal with the whole got to order parts thing .
Thanks A Million

Can someone with a 08 service manual tell me what each light on the (EHC ) Does . I have been wanting to ride this thing today and do Night Trains trouble shooting tips but we have got 31/2'' of rain today and expect more all week . I did get a appt for Friday morning in wichita to have this thing looked at . Im just hoping this will be a ONE TRIP DEAL . If anyone has the prints for a 08 EHC I would appreciate it . Time to order the service manual .

What a coincedence. Took the bike out and after a few miles it just died, as if I mistakenly hit the engine cut-off switch. Pulled in the clutch, hit the engine cut-off switch (run) and released the clutch. Bike started right up. Probably ten miles later, did it again. This time I pulled in the clutch, hit the start button and it started up. Few miles later, sputtered, died, but restarted just by pulling in the clutch and hitting the start button.

When I got home I drained the tank, put in new gas and the next day drove 60+ miles without a problem. Following day got about 15 miles and it did the same thing, sort of sputtered, like I hit the kill switch. Pull in clutch, hit engine run button, release clutch and while the bike is still moving it starts right up.

What gives???

Ok got it to fail this evening . Went by your instructions .

When key is on I have 2 lights (POWER & CONTROLER ON is FLASHING)

When I hit RUN I get The (IGNITION LIGHT )

When I hit START I get 3 LIGHTS (CONTROLER ON , POWER,AND IGNITION LIGHT PULSES )

WHEN BIKE FAILED I PULLED SEAT AND ONLY HAVE 2 LIGHTS ( POWES ON & CONTROLER ON .
The BIKE WILL NOT START UNTIL I HIT RUN AGAIN .

Change your ignition switch. It takes a whole 15 min and I'm telling you this is exactly the problem I just fixed on another bike.

Moe, does the replacement switch have to be another big dog one or will an aftermarket switch work?

I was told from N/T any switch will work 12volt or whatever you want! I installed a 12volt key switch as a replacement.

Sounds like an ignition switch to me. The next time it dies try to get a glimps of the speedo to see if it resets (needle swing). If the engine dies and the needle swings like an initial key turn-on then a key switch is likely. Let us know on the results.
