Bike acts as if there is no fuel. Help

I would remove one thing at a time to cancel out possibility's
-remove filter in external gas filter
-remove vents from gas cap
-pull the pet cock out and clean
-maybe then Acc pump screw

leave the pump until last. everything else is simple maintenance items that you can put back without changing anything (except the vent and that can stay out).

when you put the petcock back in, make sure you use the yellow teflon tape. it is for petroleum/chemical use. or you can use pipe dope.

Thanks all you guys. I will do it in that oder this week it's to cold in the garage today in New York. Its seems like that will do the trick. I am going to buy a new pet cock regardless. I only put the add on gas filter on because I did not want to remove the pet cock in the 1st place. So know I have an extra piece of chrome on the old dog. Is it true about a gas hose being to long, sounds to fucked up even for your dogs. It's always good to converse with you guys. Just hope I don't get vapor lock now with my vent gone on my cap.

Well your wasting your money buying a new petcock. Sounds like you just meed to clean and adjust the carb. Easy to do. And if your using the enricher then you are probably fouling out your plugs. Replace them also.

Download the file from the S&S site and learn what your carb does.

Our bikes don't have a choke like other carbs (reduced air flow), instead our bikes have an enricher that dumps lots of raw fuel into the manifold to assist in starting but it will foul your motor real quick if you use it all the time or to long. Thousands of threads here about this.

You sound like your fouling your motor but without more info it's hard to be sure.

Hey Ray and all others that try to help me. Just a good up date. I changed my pet cock any way just for piece of mind. Old won was fine as Ray said it would be. Inside of tanks were clean as they could be. I changed my plugs they were fucked needed to be replaced. I removed my filter from my external gas filter. I think that was my whole issue along with the plugs. I also reset mu Acc. pump screw all the way down than up 3 turns. Also set idle screw at 1G and than backed off other screw until bike sounded liked death than turned back to smooth sound. I feel good bike runs great. No backfiring. Bike starts with out even giving any gas out all.. Never will I touch my enricher again. Unless I see snow. That is not happening my bike goes to sleep now until spring.

Ray I did not need to take vent out of cap. I don't have BDM caps I changed my caps to a cap hat looks like BDM caps but the venting goes through the tank saver some how and never could get fucked.
