EBAY PARTS

I have not bought a starter from him, but I have bought other parts. They have always been good quality and shipped quickly.

He is the same as Shovelheadkicker. He sells all the excess parts for BDM. He is said to be employed by the factory.

By the way all BDM starters are re-built starters. They come with a dyno type certificate showing what output they are producing. I have a picture of one in my gallery but to many pics to search it out!

Ray,

I bought one for my 03 pit and after putting it on it did the same thing as the old one. Hit the switch and nothing. Pulled the cover off the solenoid and the wire inside was broken. I also noticed the plunger and contacts were old. I figured with a rebuilt these would atleast be new. Anyway I sent it back and he did replace it but I decided to buy a new one and he would not giver me my money back on the "REBUILT ONE". Guess I have a spare now.

Sorry to hear that you had this experience with him. It's not the norm with him though.

Take that starter down and have it re-built and then keep it as a spare or re-list (many here have) it and recoupe some of your money.

He only lists once a week. I'm sure more will be up in a few days.
I, like others, have bought many items from Shovelheadkicker/Bigdogpartskingpin. I think his name is Craig. Anyway, usually good stuff, most new parts. The starters are rebuilt and come with a 30 day warranty. I bought one, but didn't install it until several months later. Starter works just fine, but the thing leaks like crazy....
I'm having my original rebuilt now by Wild Steed Worx and will switch them back out.
My only advice would be to install that thing as soon as you get it!
Still a pain in the ass if you have to pull it back out, pay for return shipping, and them what? Buy another and hope for the best?
If I had a chance to start over, I'd have my original rebuilt and be done.

The Skogdog and I just spent an hour with Him at is shop in Lyons. He definately is in business and a top notch guy. In my opinion he provides a huge service to Bigdog owners. I hope he continues to fill the void BDM left for us when they closed down last year.

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
What Blacktopper said!! Derek is a good guy who manages a business with his wife Donna, and that's nothing but great for us BD owners..I can't believe some of us would bitch about not being able to find parts because the are no Big Dog Dealers, then others get upset because there's postings cluttering up the Forum for BDM parts!
Derek and Donna are very capable managers who found a market, invested a great deal of time and effort, and are meeting a need. I for one know that this stuff would be sitting in a warehouse somewhere and might never be available to we who put miles on our 'Dogs and have all the issues of keeping the damn things on the road.
Blacktopper and I are on the road this week, and I really liked making one phone call and getting brake rotor buttons in a few days for $50 before a 1,200 mile run.....I suggest that there will all too soon be a time when we would be delighted for someone to clutter up our computer with ads for original BDM parts at a fair price.

Wild Steed Works, Shovelheadkicker, Bigdogpartskingpin, are the same entity. Probably liquidating old Big Dog parts stock they "forgot" to include in their 20 million dollar bankruptcy!

Well, Wild Steel Works is not the same as the Donna and Derek even if they do co-operate. Nor did D&D hide bunch of parts from bankruptcy, but bought everything from bank. They also do get new parts made for us, not just selling surplus. Their help is essential for us to keep our Dogs running.

No offense , but getting facts somewhat right before stating them to new members who don’t know better is not a bad idea Cheers

Damn Tapio, are you running for office. I don’t think you could have corrected the misinformation less offensively.

Hey, John Chiarenza, yeah you. Stop spreading shit that isn't true. If you have a beef with someone because you don't know how to behave like a decent human being thats your fucking problem. Trying to harm people's ability to make a living because your a dick is bullshit and it's exactly one of the reasons why people like you should be banned from this site, or any other. You sat around and kept your trap shut until you got your parts from WSW, and our supposed "questionable web site" per your last ignorant post, and now your back on here talking shit again. I knew I should have listened to Derek when he warned me about you but no I thought "maybe the guy would get it through his thick head". My bad, I won't make the mistake again.

Once again folks, Wild Steed Worx is a lone, separate, hard working entity that focuses on delivering parts and services for Big Dog owners. We are associated with Derek and Donna, HDM, Inc, as one of they're dealers. And again, as I've said before, we are all extremely fortunate to have them doing what they do or many of us would not be able to keep our Dogs on the road. HDM IS NOT a dent and ding wholesale, surplus company. They are a legit, hard working company that is often times overworked and underpaid and once in a while talked shit about because some douche thinks he deserves special attention above everyone else because he has a wad of smelly money in his hand. HDM has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, and continues to do so, on part redesign, new design, tool and mold making and continued new parts manufacturing. All reasons, beyond the fact that their just good people, that WSW will continue to work with them, support them and defend them when necessary.
