I think it depends on how much oil we are talking about. I get a small amount out of mine too. I'm think about using a puke can. I'm getting tired of cleaning.

alot of oil enough to where i ride afew miles it will empty the oil tank
Dude, if you are emptiing the oil tank in just a few miles then you have some major problems.

I would pull the cam cover and check the oil pump breather.
You haven't pulled any of the oil lines and possibly re-routed then wrong have you?

I dumped 4 quarts in less than 100 miles on my twin cam bagger. I'm glad I had the baker +1 pan and oil coolers. Stock capacity is only 4 quarts.

It has been determined that the rings did not seal correctly and it is causing it to pump oil out the breathers.

They are starting to re-ring my bike tomorrow. (thankfully I got an engine warranty when I had it rebuilt.)

If you can do a leak down test. It should tell the tale if the rings are shot or not.

Anything over 10% and the rings are suspect if I remember correctly.

chainsaw, starting new threads just makes it a pain to follow the steps you already taken in trying to correct your problem.

Did you pull the cam cover and check your breather?

Lets keep all you related posts together for all those following.
Thanks,
Ray

Oil Pump!!! May have sheard a keyway in the scaveng gear of the oil pump. Feed gear pumps it in but scaveng gear is not pumping it back in the oil tank.

i had a buddy with 01 pitbull doing same but only he just got the motor rebult. they kept telling him it needs to break in.. and now it has gotten a lot better. does the bike sit up a lot? thats when his gotten really bad. as for as my knowledge like the other guys said that the oil is getting past the check ball in the oil pump to the crankcase puke it up on start up... but if its doing it after running for a while might need to tear in it, something cloged or stuck. if its doing it from sitting a while like during the week and riding on weekend do like the old harleys take vise grips and clamp oilline off till startup. till you can fix it.. sounds crazy but works and like they said it will keep your driveway clean and bike somewhat cleaner.

Hey Chainsaw,
no need to delete your posts just because your problem is fixed. Your info may serve to help someone later on down the road should their bike start pukeing oil. :2thumbs:
