How many levels are there for Big Dog Certified technician's, and what does each level entail?

How do we find out what our local tech is?

How many nationwide?]
The only one I've ever met (not that I've been around that much!!!) is Jason (Ohmster) from the factory. But there are probably more.

I wonder what our local guy Thomas is here in Washington?

Andrew says he is one of 6 level 2 tech, so there cannnot be many 3's.

Thomas is at least a 2, and may be a 3, if not, he is damn close.

Wouldn't that mean more 3s then since level one has to be supervised under 2s and 3s?

As far as I know, Bigdog is currently not holding any training classes. I have spoken with Will out there recently and unless they get a mess of dealers wanting to pay to send their guys out, it looks like the classes will be put on hold indefinitely. Doug Waller was one of the lead instructors out there and he no longer is with BDM. As far as Level 3 goes, the classes have not even been created yet. Richard Romero said they will start the Level 3 classes once all the Technicians have completed Level 2. There are only 6 of us in the country that have completed all the courses for Level 2. I am fortunate enough to be one of them. I completed all mine just before they stopped having them. It is too bad really, we need more trained techs out there. I know a lot of guys out there have a lot of knowledge with these bikes, but you learn a lot of things you might not have known if you had not gone threw all the courses.
Just my .02 cents:D
You have to complete Level 1 to move onto Level 2 and so on, so there are more Level 1's out there than 2's.

Here are some of the courses a Level 2 had to complete:

-All online testing @ dealership (basic theory, a mess of questions, can't remember the exact number, that was 3 yrs ago)

-EFI class @ BDM Training Facility (2.5 days)
-Electrical class @ BDM Training Facility (3days)
-Chassis class @ BDM Training Facility (2.5 days)
-Engine- EVO class @ BDM Training Facility (4 days)
-Transmission,clutch and Primary class @ BDM Training Facility (2 days)
-X-Wedge Motor class @ BDM Training Facility (4 days)

When Big Dog first had certified testing classes on line 2 years ago I took every test and passed with 95 test score or better. The server crashed and lost everyone’s testing scores and no one receive any diplomas. Big Dog tried again with another system provider that three months into it again lost everyone’s test scores and were not recovered. I have copies of the testing. Questions and answers. It’s not that hard. If I get time I will see what I can come up with and maybe post the questions on the board. I have a Master Certification with Suzuki, Yamaha, Indian, and a few more. Certified Diplomas from S&S engines, Progressive Suspension, Zippers, maybe 10 others. With all that said you still need an ability to transfer the knowledge from mind to matter. All the certifications in the world don’t make you a great tech. My point is if you know how it works and can fix it correctly a piece of paper will not make you a great mechanic.

My 2pennys.

Talked to Thomas today and he and a mechanic in So Cal both became certified level 3's same time at the factory. Shortly after this the company ceased operations.
