did some testing on the v h 2 into1 found drilling four 1/2" holes in the center baffle is best.
exhaust is louder & lower tone and it stops the back and fouth rock you get in first gear going slow, my bike was always 1/2 a jet size to rich, now its spot on!!!:zz2cents:

I just removed the Baffles from my BR and took it on a test ride...way too much noise on decel and gear changing so I cut my baffles in half and there was a nice difference in the sound and the noise on decel and gear changing went away completely. Thanks to the previous posts I had very little trouble pulling out the baffles after having 5k miles on them. I threaded the baffle screw in from the inside of the pipe, sprayed the baffles with WD40 and looped a wire coat hanger around the screw. I then twisted the coat hanger together on the other end and clamped it with vice grips...two shots with a hammer and the baffle came loose. This site rocks...without the tips from previous users I probably would have caused some damage to the bike trying to get them out.

once you remove the baffles.... you will never go back. the big radius sound good without. to quiet with them in. "loud pipes saves lives"

I have the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 with the baffles out on two of my dogs. Personally I can't tell any difference in performance. I ran a 2 into 1 for awhile but didn't like the sound. It was way to quite. I removed the baffle and cut out the core replacing it with a straight pipe that I bent to fit. I kept the back pressure and it sounded great. The 2 into 1 with no baffle sounds to much like a Yamaha V star. :job: I ended up replacing the 2 into 1 with the 2 into 2 because I like the look better.

The dog I'm selling has a 2 into 1 but it hasn't been altered.

When I purchased my K9 in 2006, it left the shop with radius pipes and no baffles. Loud as hell. Joggers would cover their ears as I overtook them on side streets.

When coasting and downshifting there would be occasional popping.

Eventually, I couldn't take it that loud any more and the guys @ Gateway big dog in stl put half baffles in. This seems to be a good compromise based on my personal preference. They are still loud, but not overly obnoxious and the popping is gone completely.

I live in a condo with a 1st floor parking garage. In the summers when I ride late at night I have to push it out into the parking lot before firing it up. Neighbors complain the whole building rumbles if I fire her up in the garage.

I'm running the V&H 2 into 1. I left the baffle in but knocked the plug out and it sounds pretty mean. I do get some decel pop but I can live with it...

Tried it last year. Painful. My wife said she tell exactly where I was on the highway the circles out town two miles out. Sounds terrible. Scott Wolf with X wedge 121

Hey,

Just cut my radius pipe baffles down to 6" (the Total length was 12"). It took less than an hour but they were new pipes. The wire removal technique mention above worked great with two little taps of a hammer.

Took it around the block and it sounds sweet. I would like to reduce them more but I think I will wake everybody up in the adjacent houses when I pull in to the garage. Definately louder but not totally obnoxious.

I'm happy

On my (05 Chopper) w/BR 2 into 2 sounds awful at idle but when running not too bad.
Wish they would sound like the V&H dual staggered I had on my FatBoy.
I'd like to do something but not sure which method mentiond here is best. :confused:
