I didn't say that75 miles is a stroll in the park, even on the hard tail. The better half rode a motorcycle 1 time and crashed. She vowed to never get on one again, and hasn't, Managed to get 387 miles on the pitbull Saturday while we were "lost in America" But oh well, life is good !!
Really would have been nice to meet u Paul.. if we can make this a yearly deal u can come to the next!!Just checked the pictures and video out. Thanks for sharing, the more I see from the event the more I hate not making it.
Good video! Thanks for the share! We had a blast and hope we can all meet up n ride again soon!!I shared it out at www.facebook.com/thunderroadsmagazineokar. Check it out. Turned out well! I have several photos out there from the weekend as well. Enjoy!
Garry, Thank you so much for your help! What a fantastic weekend!! Thanks to Tim for 10 years of BDBF and the patches he sent for the occasion. Wish he could of been able to be there. Thanks to Cathy for the unique shot glasses that were a big hit with the group. Thanks to Matt Moore and his family and staff (which are also part of his family) for the countless things they did to make the Gathering an overwhelming success. Thanks to the McCloud family for being there for us when parts are needed and their terrific contribution to the event. Certainly would have liked to have met them but time did not allow it. Gives me another good reason to visit the Wichita area soon. Thanks to Shannon for leading the effort to make this event happen. The facility and staff that makes up Flint Oak went out of their way to make us welcome and solve any problem that occurred to the best of their ability.
It was great to be able to visit with old friends to catch up with what has been happening in their lives as well as getting to make new friends that you only know from what is said on the forum. Putting the face with the name (in this case two names) is always gratifying. To be in the company of all these people from all walks of life with the common thread being their love of Big Dog Motorcycles is quite rewarding. To be a part of that ribbon of motorcycles traveling down that Kansas highway was a dream come true. I do hope the Gathering will become an annual event. Thanks to all who were able to make the trip to this event and allowed me to be a part of their lives even if only for a weekend.
Two things happened this weekend that I did not expect or even dream might happen.
I did not expect Braden my 10 year old grandson to blow up some Tannerite with one shot from an AR.
I did not expect to see Patty my wife shooting a machine gun.
Ride safe and see you soon.
If you post an upside down video, will turning an iPad upside down make it right side up? Probably not, but I can turn my laptop upside down. It doesn't know the difference.Kind of hard to decide whether or not to post pictures of the shoot, but everyone knows we did, and it will probably be in the video, so if anyone has any pictures of that, go ahead and post them. I have video, but it's upside down.
I have that problem with computer stuff too! Makes ya really appreciate grandkids doesn't it??My phone won't and I tried to down load it, but after 20 minutes I just backed out of it. My internet is to slow. Maybe the grand kids will be down this weekend, and can show me how to do it.
I think that's a great idea, but I'm on board with it being in the same place every year just because it's home of Big Dog.. Jmo broham... but we shall see what happens if n e thing does come of it.Folks are talking about having this gathering every year, I think Wichita is about as far next year as it is today. What if it would be like a traveling show? Different places every year, bit closer to some members. Sure it would mean we would miss Big Dog and Donna and Derek and would need "local Shannon" to make the shit happening. That might actually be the most difficult part...
What do you think?
My liver can't take that trip with JR every year! Hell, we are now, 3(?) days after the event in Nashville! It's gonna take a month to get home this speedI think that's a great idea, but I'm on board with it being in the same place every year just because it's home of Big Dog.. Hey! At least ya get to be with a really good travel companion! Don't wanna hear no whining outta ya ! You guys have fun, and a safe trip home !!My liver can't take that trip with JR every year! Hell, we are now, 3(?) days after the event in Nashville! It's gonna take a month to get home this speed
This is kind of kind riding with Dentdude, 50 miles a day at 35 mph.
Except we are hauling ass and on the road, then have some fun in barsneed to sleep one full night pretty soon.

657 ! That was a long day!Wow, I got in last night. The last leg was 657 miles but it almost doesn't count 'cause it was powered by....LUST. Remember...no boozin' and cruzin'.....the cops just hate it when you cut into their "perks".
657 wow, another 25 miles, an you would have beat my record by 2 miles. Yes, that's a long day in the seat. You start out stopping every 100 miles, then it's every 75 miles, and shorter and shorter. I always wanted to do an Iron Butt ride, but my old bones can't take it any more. 400 is tops for me now.Wow, I got in last night.
