Hi everyone I have a 2004 Ridgeback.... My question is...Is there any bigdogs(any model, any year) that have traveled say 10,000 + miles and have had a trouble free life, ie no electrical, mechanical or what ever?

Yes My 04 was trouble free for 15K then my ehc lost its horn (No Big Deal to me my loud ass pipes are louder than my horn) and my dealer got me a re-designed ehc. No other electrical trouble. I blew up the motor traveling back from AZ bike week a few years ago but thats my own doing traveled with buddies at 120mph at 120 degrees. 45K miles on my dog and I still love it

08' Ridgeback 28,000 miles. Gone thru 3 speedos, haven't had a horn for 3 years. 2 starters....original EHC, other than that no other issues. :D

None of my bikes which have included Honda, BSA, Triumph and Big Dog have made it. But, once the shake down cruise was over, it has always been just regular maintenance.

Gives me some hope then. But just started having trouble (as per another of my forum moans) with intermittent taco... working and then not working, now my headlight is on the blink....low beam worked then didn't, high always worked...now both don't at all...flam'n heck... will pull all the headlight apart and recheck the wiring as I did install a new Adare multese cross one..Great to hear there are BDs out there that have had no problems tho

Next time the headlight goes pull the connectors and check to see if power is going up there. If not, could be the beginning of the end for your EHC. Intermittent, unrelated electrical issues usually mean the EHC is going.

Just bought my 2004 mastiff last aug. it just under 10000 miles. The starter was the only problem I have had so far. It was covered under warranty. I have had a few situations where the battery connections vibrated loose. My suggestion is to learn as much as you can about your bike. This forum is one of the best way to how your bike works. These guys know there stuff and they re very helpful.

Thanks for that, I'll pull off my tank, work through the wire harness, work through my tacho and dielectric every thing.
Any idea what a new EHC modual is worth...hopfuly as a last resort?

if you are going to change out the EHC i would look to other options, Wire Plus / PDM IMO

14,000 miles with no problems except a fogging speedo which was easily replaced with a Dakota Digital from Mad Dog(ValueTech). I have done a lot of upgrades for my own personal comfort and performance, but no problems.

28,000 on my 2008 Mastiff with no issues. just under 10,000 on my 2005 Ridgeback and no issues either.

I have broken both filaments in my headlight and she ran fine. It was after a Dyno. So, I assume she was shaking pretty good at over 6,000 rpm. The blue light comes on when both filaments are broken.

I wish I had more money.
Sorry for the hijack but what numbers did you pull down on the dyno?
