i just bought one after having an american ironhorse this bike is far better who cares if they are out the bikes will live on, you can't hide quality.

If prices on parts and bikes on eBay are any indicator, the value of at least BDM parts has gone way up...

I have only looked at a few BDM bikes on eBay, but they don't appear any cheaper than prior to the foreclosure.

I think the price that a Dog lover will pay will stay up, the "value" as described by nada or Kelly will probably not.

I did see a K-9 roller on the bdmperformance site earlier while it was partially up -- sort of makes me want to but one and stash it away for later!

Well, to look at it another way, it certainly can't make the value of our custom choppers any worse than what the economy has done to them already.

I love my bike,surely wont sell it or get rid of it....but truelly I wonder where you guys got your BDM KOOL AID........These bikes arent collector coins,or muscle cars from the 70s...Besides your biased opinion and love for your bike explain to me how in the world your bike just increased in value after the company folded and to be quite honest ..dont look as though there will be an everlasting amount of parts available for them in the future.......It might be worth more to you as an owner but I seriously doubt NADA looks at this the same way as us.......

Iron Lightning (Tulsa) was serving massive amounts of koolaid to all that wanted it. I drank a liter of it.

My observation was that parts on eBay have shot up. As far as the bikes go, I don't see a big drop in value, just normal depreciation.

My guess on the bikes will be that people that want them will continue to buy the ones that come up for sale. Of course, since there will be no new bikes being made, and sadly, no warranties, the remaining bikes in dealers showrooms will be hard to sell. So they are the ones that have tanked in value.

I already decided that if and when I buy another bike, I will probably go back to HD. But I will be looking in 2 or 3 years, not immediately.

There is NO way I am going to part with my dog as we can get parts for them and we should be able to from S&S, Baker, PM ect. we will in good shape.

I don't care about NADA etc...I'd sell my slightly used '11 Ultra (~300 miles) for less than my 07 K9 for any foreseeable future..... :cheers:

Value of BDM

Surely the value is in the eye of the beholder, I don't suppose my brother who owns a Yamaha Dresser would entirely agree with me, but I don't care. I just bought mine and I have no intention of selling so what NADA or Kelly believe doesn't bother me. After all, these are custom bikes assembled from the best available. Also I saw that S&S is thinking about picking up the warranty issues on their stuff and they plan on being around for a long time to come so I am not worried. The rest of the cycles' parts are available from other individual manufacturers so I hope they continue to supply their stuff as well. Does seem a shame that such a great outfit can't survive todays economics.

Big Dog had a lot of parts that were propriotary like the PM break rotors. I wonder if there is anything in place to release vendors like PM from not being able to sell certain parts made just for for Big Dog only.

I think this scared some owners...I picked my 07 K9 up at a "great" price last week. I'm with you guys...I'm not selling mine either!!! I'm sure glad this guy decided he wanted to sell though...

Value,HA HA. I have a 04 Bigdog Chopper and would not trade it for a 2011 HD Soft tail custom. I love my BD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
