Hello
I have an opportunity to trade my Arlen Ness Victory Cross Country for a 2009 Big Dog Wolf. The wolf only has 5k and is in great condition. The only issue is it has a car tire on the rear. My Victory has 20k and is in great condition. My ask from you guys is should I trade for the wolf ? My main concerned is I will not be able to get parts for the X wedge motor for service. The rear tire I’ll buy knowing it’s going to cost about 1700$ from some guy up north but the parts concern me. My ask is should I trade bikes ?
Insight I do not take long rides mostly around town and my trips are usually 150 miles max. I put 2-3k miles on a bike a year so I’m not at all an everyday or other day rider. Also my wife will never ride on a bike either which has me seriously considering the trade

The reason there is a car tire on it is that the rear tire is no longer being made. You may find someone that has one, but you are going to pay an arm and a leg. They will already be several years old at this point. As far as the X-wedge, it is no longer being made either. I'm not sure how many parts S&S still makes for it. The wolf is a pretty bike, but I'm not sure I would risk it.

That is the last BigDog motorcycle I would ever buy or trade for. And I love me some BigDog motorcycles. Something messes up on your motor & you got a beautiful bike that’s useless. Not to mention the rear wheel issue. That would be a deal breaker for me on its own. To each his own. If you trade for it I wish you the best of luck.
 :chopper:

One of the old ones.
I know an engineer at S&S and just texted him a few minutes ago. He says they do not have much inventory to support the xwedge engine. That will only get worse over time. Consensus: no deals for a Wolf (arguably the most beautiful Big Dog ever produced) unless you want a garage art piece. A damn sorry end, IMHO

Funny, I haven't been on here but a few times since I bought my Indian Challenger, but I can confirm that it is pretty much impossible to sell a Wolf. I gave up years ago, and now I just occasionally ride and clean mine. Damn shame these models got orphaned.
