Big Dog steps up again

I have to give kudos to Big Dog for stepping up again – I went to my dealer and tried to order the starter motor rebuild kit to try to cure the started oil leak that many of us have. They told me the part was discontinued and they could not order it. I was a bit disappointed but we started talking and my dealer suggested asking Big Dog if they would cover it, even though I am well out of Warranty. Well a couple of hours later I got a phone call and Big Dog is going to cover it, new starter motor should be here next week.

This is the second time they have taken care of a problem i had even thoug i am out of warranty, cannot fault their customer service.

It's nice to hear a good story about customer service. My dealer steped up and ate the cost of an EHC unit when BD would'nt!

That's cool. I paid a fortune for an extended warranty and yet have had to use it. Did I get the only good 05?

They really try and make all of us Dog owners happy. They can't please everyone, but they do most of us. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Too bad they can't teach their dealers the same motto. Thats where the grass roots service should be. SOS, I know there are some good ones out there but they seem to be the minority. I am all for businesses prospering and am trying to stay positive.

Nope, I think I got the other one:lol: I only had problems with the clutch push rod and the starter leak from the primary in the beginning when I was under warrantee and my dealer promptly fixed both and I haven't had a problem since, especially electric which plagues so many owners on this forum but then again I don't wash my bike using a hose or bucket EVER!!!, hand clean with detailer spray, takes longer but I learned my lesson many years ago the hard way.

Big Dog has always stood behind any problems I've had...
I first had an 05 choppa with many leaks and coughs and sneezes and gun shot back fires at starts. carb adj etc....BDM always corrected the problem... what a bitcin ride...I now have an 07 choppa and it is on its 1st hospital visit with 7k miles...cant wait till it gets home so I can cruise again...nice to have a custom bad ass ride with a warranty that works...

Good to hear that BDM is stepping up and taking care of the starter issues. Little strange though that the dealer said it was discontinued for the rebuild kit. I just picked up one last week and they had inidicated that they have been getting them in with no problems. Maybe the just stopped this week, I guess it was good I picked up a kit for the just in case.
