I don't believe that shit!! :job: No way are they made in this solar system or even this galaxy for that matter. What universe is "The Borg" from? I believe the EHC's were sent here to destroy our bikes, our people, our culture as we know it.:whoop::cheers:

Look guys.
The bottom line is you gotta do what you gotta do to survive in this economy.
If it means outsourcing parts then so be it. Unfortunately that’s how it has to be. I know for a fact that Harley Davidson is doing the exact same thing. How do I know? Because they use to have our company stamp metal parts for them and we lost the job to china because they could do it cheaper. It’s just a fact of life in order to survive.
Just ride em and enjoy em.

:flag:I recently made a post that said these bikes are made with all American parts.

Now, I have recieved several PM's stating not all parts are from the USA.

So the question begs to be asked, do you know for 100% fact WHAT parts are not made in America, and do you know WHERE that part is made?

I do know the connectors on the batteries are 10mm, but do not know where they are made.

OK, prove me wrong, what is from where?

Also, in your best estimated guess, what percentage of Big Dog Motorcycles are made in America?

Yep, Bring it:2thumbs:
"American made" doesn't mean anything anymore. If a part is made of metals that were forged in America, shipped overseas and then pressed into their final part assembly, does that make them foreign or American made? What if the engineer that designed them was American? Chinese? Indian? Everybody in America who thinks that "American made" is a legitimate claim in 2010 is fooling themselves. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that is 100% made in America from natural resource to final product in 2010. Maybe a Jimmy Carter rocking chair, but the seeds that grew the tree more than likely came from Europe hundreds of years ago anyway.

Any product that claims "100% American made" or "100% made in America" is lying. Besides, it's borderline prejudiced to claim that anything made in America is better than the same thing made in another country, and it always has been. Our parents just accepted that type of prejudism more than does our generation.

well sure these bikes aren't 100% american made but there are a lot of parts on them that are and BDM has it's head quarters in the USA and were paying taxes here

We have some big problems in this country and when we don't make anything it's pretty hard to create jobs

Thinking about this and still thinking BDM built a motorcycle that has more American parts than other motorcycles built in America.

What say you, in the last 25 years, what production motorcycle company that claimed made in America had the most USA made parts? Lets stick with those American companies that are/were headquartered in America and built more than 10,000 motorcycles.

Let me add my dos centavos.

I make a reasonable effort to buy American, Both my vehicles are Dodge products and of course my motorcycle is, but whether it is made in America or not is not necessarily a deal breaker for me.

I know this guy who is kind of a nationally known economic expert, pretty conservative guy, and he says that free trade and the ability to buy the cheapest product, even if it is imported, is essential to our economy. He states that imported goods frees capital which in return puts more money in our econmy and creates new businesses and jobs. He states that imported goods and free trade actually helps American products and American investors have more money to advance technology and create more higher end jobs in the US.

I too try and do my best to buy American-as a union carpenter- I want to spend my hard earned $ right here in the USA.
Ford and Chevy trucks in my driveway . HD and my custom in the garage.Gibson guitars in the living room and Smith and Wesson in my night table draw.
I know some of the parts used to assemble these are foreighn , but the fact still remains they are American companies and the majority of the $ stays right here in the USA.
I'm not happy about it - several of the parts I bought for my bike had ChinaTiawan
stickers on them fenders & directionals, ect . .

And I too was told Victory is the closest you can get to an all American made bike.
My sled is a Polaris and I bought it over Skidoo and Artic Cat mainly because Polaris
says they have the most made in USA parts on them .
