Check out Rick Fairless' comment on the Cyril Huze blog page. Its the 15th comment down, and his thoughts are a breath of fresh air. Well said, Rick!

I bought my Chopper from Rick's shop, Strokers 6 years ago. Both him and BDM have given me great service and a hell of a bike!

Economy is going through some rough times, and will continue for several years, I believe. But I really hope BDM finds their way through it. There is no substitute for the enjoyment and complements that come with riding a Big Dog Motorcycle!

I wonder if 1 or 2 million would help them out at all.
We might be able to raise that here, and be investors.
Hey ,who knows more about how to make customers happy and who loves the product more than us?
Just a crazy idea 2 million probably wouldn’t go very far anyway.

So what's keeping these guys' heads above water in this bad economy?

Big Bear Choppers | Rethinking, Revising and Reinventing the Premium American Motorcycle.

You don't hear much about them...must be surviving..
Maybe Big Dog should be studying them a little closer..?
They are out still promoting their product and going to bike events. They also seem to have more options and had them faster.

I talked with them in laughlin as was told sales had started to pick up. They also said they had been selling overseas for a while and that it was doing well for them

They told me they didn't get that many bikes back from dealers going under and that is what has really hurt BDM

They may be able to survive but not on any sort of level left in the past. All the warranty work and advertising is going to kill their profits. I can't see them staying open unless they see a major upswing in the economy in the forseeable future.

Sadly that probably would not even be a start. What I see is someone buying the name, rights and etc. Then starting on a smaller scale in smaller facility. Too much capacity for the number sold right now.

Good news from Germany!!!

The German importer Custom-Garage sells a lot of Big Dogs  .

He even does not have enough bikes for demonstration at the big meets here....
All gone!

That's what I read in German Harley forums.

Good luck, BDM!
