Looks too good to be true.
Price seems way out of line.

This anybody's bike ?

The fact that it is called Superbike or Motorbike leads me to believe this is being posted from another country.

Sounds very suspecious for sure or someone is getting rid of the hubby bike due to a little domestic split. Does say it is located in the US.

Very tempted to send them something to get more details. Would be a hell of a deal if is legit.

The listing is so absurd that you would hope nobody would ever fall for this.

Sad, but somebody might.

Well I sent them an email to get some more details, Should be interested to see what comes back. Let see if they give the VIN and other details.

Who knows, may be one of those occasional situation where someone doesn't give a shit and just wants to get rid of it, or like I have seen occasionally, the wife is pissed at ex and selling off his toys for dirt cheap as pay back!!!

More than likely something is not right, but will see what they have to say. I do know that if there is an bit of truth to this, would never do it without seeing it persons and having everything checked on all ownership and history.

I tried to send them a message but would not go through. I am pretty sure it is a scam, but i was going to see.

The second posting has been flagged for removal already. May be that the reason that they list it as Superbike and Motorbike is due to listing it on two different area for Craigslist and that is in violation of their user agreement. May also explain why the second listing has been flagged.

Actually doing such is a pretty common trick to get around the Craigslist terms to show it on various location instead of just one. You simply change the original listing enough to not let the program show the two as same, usuall different name, pictures, description and details.

"like the part where he says the rockers and tailgate are perfect and solid as well as the doors? wtf"

Pretty sure there is something wrong but the statement above is a way to get around the Craigslist terms to have a chance of the software not catching it due to multiple listing on two different areas.

Familar with Craigslist and have known similar type of things to be done before. Say you want to list it in DC Area, Richmond, and Pittsburg. Under Craigslist you can only list as one area. So what people do is creat different description for same item and hoping that is enough that it goes through the filters and doesn't get flag (which is second one is).

An example would be I decide to sell a 1955 Chevy Belair but want to post it in NY and Miami.

My first description may say:

1955 Chevy Belair, Automatic Transmission, Small Block V-8, orginal owner,

The second may say:

Chevorlet 210 Hard Top 55, one owner, 265 8 Cylinder engine, Powerglide. Then I would post different pictures and ideally use different user accounts.

Get the owner to give you his phone number if possible and for sure get the VIN number and call BDM, they will give you the history of a bike. It it is fake, the legal dept at BDM gets involved.

Will he did respond back but did not provide any info of use to me. He said he had it on eBay and sold it and paid shipping to Alaska, etc and then it got there and the buyer did not have the money.

His email was real vague and did not make a whole bunch of sense, but I replied back to him and told him I was serious if it was as listed on Craigslist (and who wouldn't be it if was legit which is highly unlikely). So I requested more details including the VIN, Ownership History, etc. The stuff that most any legitiment seller would provide and all sellers would want and need to check it out.

Will see how his reply is, if he does reply and let you all know. He did indicate that he was in Orlando area (which doesn't make sense of why it was listed in Washington DC and N Va on Craigslist).

If by the miniscule chance this is legit and the offer of a lifetime, I will be heading down to get that SOB as quick as possible with cash in hand and run it over to DMV and push it through. Highly unlikely that he will send me some solid info to run it through and allow a potiential buyer to make sure it is legit, but if he does and it checks out, well it would be a first.

Bet he comes back and the price is totally different and/or still give very little info. Will see.

Just now notice that both of the Craigslist have been flagged for removal. Will send him a email and see what his excuse if for that. Should be interesting.

A quick way to ask for it to be legit is to have him send you a pic of the bike and today's edition of USA TODAY

Well I do not want to call someone full of shit (well at least yet), but he sent me back some info, though none of it really good. Said he had sold it through eBay to someone up in Alaska and had it shipped (from the sounds of it using an eBay associated shipper), then the buyer did not follow through and now eBay has it and will ship to whoever buys it with a Veicle Protection Plan and then release him the funds and if buyer is not satisfied can get full refund (that is BS for the VPP only protects you from fraud and a few other things, but not if you are not satisfied).

I have asked him numerous times to send me a link to the original eBay listing along with a VIN. Also asked him for history such as ownership (is he original), maintenace and if recalls and service bulletins have been done, also asked him to confirm price as well as some more detail pictures.

So far he has not gave me any details that would allow a buyer to research anything. All he says is that he will back it up if not satisfied, that it was inspected 3 weeks ago, etc.

Basically says if I agree to terms, he wil send eBay the release and they will ship. He wants me to send full name, address, fax number, etc. Now I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. I guess he expects me to send him SSN and all my credit info too!!!!!

I will see if he sends me any info as I have asked for three times all ready. It is funny reading his replies for sure. I fully expect nothing and then will say, hey what kind of fool do you think I am in. Who the hell would buy anything from you without any details or proof.

Oh he says he is in Orlando area, but it was listed on Craigslist twice, once in N VA and once in Washington DC, both of which have been removed. Then he says it is with eBay. I had asked him if he had any idea of why the Craigslist was showing it flagged for removal. He blew right past that and said send my name, address and fax if I want and he would release Ebay.

If this doesn't say bull shit, I do not know what does. I think I have a better chance of hitting lottery before this is legit. Still will be fun to see if he replies to my last email. Oh his email is through a GoDaddy Account with Domain Proxy Systems as adminstrator and he does not use a personal name, but some company for account. Hasn't give his name either.

Knotso,

No I did not get a VIN yet. It is the same type scam that you link to from the past. More or less screwing with him to see what he has to say.

If he replies to my last one, and with no more information, I think I will say thanks but no thanks, but being the good guy that I am, I will tell him that I will let others know. Then maybe many of us can send him some BS emails.

My last email to "my scam" I informed him that BDM Legal dept was working in conjunction with the US Attorney General and several foriegn Governments and were putting a case together for maximum sentences and to seize all assets of these scamers. Then I said I got word they know who he was and were following his paper trail and arrests would be completed by years end.

Immediatly his email quit working and his AD was pulled from all locations.

Bet it is the same guy with a new twist. His use of sentence structure was inadequate.

He never gives much info and only wants you to pay using his "secure, money back" service. Then, he gauranteed delivery within 2 days. Yeah, right.

If anyone suspects a scam, get a vin # and call BDM and ask for info. This is not an issue for BDM and will do this for anyone with a question about their bike or a future purchase, and where the bike was originally sold.

Knotso,

Sounds like a good plan if he sends anything that will give a VIN and checks bad. So far he hasn't stated how money would need to be exchanged, then again I think he is waiting for me to give him an address or such before he goes next step.

Dam I did not know my chopper had chrome pedals. Or every heard it called a motorbike.
Where are these chrome pedals because I missed them while polishing.
Maybe Im in a short group of peps, but I dont buy anything like that unless I can research, touch, ride and meet the person who owns it.
Kindof the same way I do my women...
