Hey, so I have never asked you, my uncle used to be some big top dog at big bear when their shop was actually in big bear California where my family had a cabin and whatnot, n e ways he was one of the people who talked me into getting a big dog because he says their engines were trash and they uses many different transmissions. At the time he said their biggest engine they used was revtec and some Korean trans.. what s ur bike got Paul? And how has treated u all these years? Asking because I like big bear and one day may wanna get one.

The big bear has an s&s 100” it’s weak compared to the 107 but it’s a really smooth engine, compared to the 107. I like it
The transmission has been spot on and I actually had it rebuilt during the tear down, it wasn’t having issues but decided to do it while it was all apart. I like the big bear however, they are no longer building choppers and I don’t think they are even supplying parts, they are only building fxr, and bagger bullshit.
I may be tearing it down again, after the ridgeback is complete. I don’t want to tear it down but if I have to rebuild the motor I may strip it completely. For now it’s going to sit until I decide what I want to do with it. It’s been running like shit and not reliable at all.

Well after going through all the wiring I found the electrical issue. I also found oil leaking by the head gaskets. I am leaving the big bear alone for now and going to focus solely on getting the ridgeback ready to ride. I can’t make this shit up

Big Bears also came with Revtech engines, or better known as boat anchors...

Dude!
Get your ass on the Ridge! -- So we can ride before we get old! :chopper:

ps: I got multiple oil leaks on mine but keep riding til the winter to fix 'em.
… and you gave me a heart attack with that "headline" I thought you went down like "Bill-55" crash and burn stuff... is that what they call "Social Media Click Bait"?

I was thinking the same thing just for a second knowing full well he was having an electrical issue.
Yes, relieved it wasn't a crash and burn thing.

That sucks dude, sorry to see it. I'm nervous about plugging in my Ultima 113 set up, it's been dormant (but the cylinders were lubed with marvel before hand) for almost 3 years now :/
