Better than Braille...???

So its battery time again... not disappointed with the longevity of the Braille, but not thrilled with how fast the performance tapered off. After a year or so it was just ok and then went south from there.
So my question is... Is there anything that has eclipsed our Braille and put it in 2nd or lower place that is just the king of the hill for batteries? Also, price these days are at the $200 mark which is kinda steep for what you get. What are we picking these days for our voltage source?
Thanks

Most everyone has different opinions on batteries including me. I used Braille, HD and they lasted about a year or less. Several years ago I switched to the TOMIOKA RACING (TR-B1500) It's the right size and weight, It’s small enough for 4-cylinder vehicle without the added weight. Perfect for racing and daily driving Full Charge Voltage: 13.8 CCA: 465

I use that battery on my 2006 Mastiff and lasts longer then the HD or Braille in my opinion. Pricey but this Battery will make your starter turn faster than most others I have used in the past. :2cents:

Ahh, fwiw, I'm still on the Braille from my rebuild 3yrs ago, never on a tender and fires up EVERY time. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat but thats just me.

Don't know if it's better than Braille yet but,I picked up a Duracell from my local batteries plus store about two months ago,no complaints yet.I went through three Braille bat's in about 6years,the price went up to somewhere around $180,I paid $120ish for the duracell,I purchased it online which had a discount, picked it up an hour later,if it lasts two years like the B did than I'm good..

Went to local batteries plus, bought a battery for about 100$, faulty VR boiled it, got a new one under warranty. That has lasted about 2 years now. Didn't pay attention to brand. Was about rectangular and terminals on top. Good enough for me.

Buy a battery from Walmart for $88. If it goes bad within the year, take it back and get a new one for free. Most times they last 2 yrs or more. Screw all these high priced pieces of crap that don't last.... Hey, you can buy a pair of under shorts from Haines for around $3 or you can buy a pair of Kelvin Kline's for $12.... both do the same job and last the same amount of time....

You can buy a Honda for under $5K too. Does the same job, and actually lasts longer.
Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

I know my Jockey shorts have outlasted my old Haines by triple now & their still going.

I just replaced my Wal-Mart battery after 2.5 years of service. Went to Wal-Mart asked the rep he rung me up and I was shocked walked out for $46.30 after taxes with a new battery. Got $12 core for the old one.

I think he made a mistake they are listed for $78 online. But $46 for 2 years that's easy.

For that price you can get several totally fine batteries elsewhere.
I'm a huge believer in buying the best battery you can afford. It's my suspicion that all thes electrical issues stem inferior batteries. An internally shorted battery will cause a VR to allow high levels of charge for extended periods of time thus burning out the VR. Additionally high amperage is good for the starter because it doesn't heat up due to faster spinning of the armature and less time engaged. The generator/alternator doesn't work as hard because the battery doesn't draw down as badly.
I'm pretty hard on electrical systems and have found at least in trucks that really good batteries can all but eliminate most electrical issues.

Valid point , Shain, But how much longer does this $300.00 battery last? what kind of warranty do they give ya? I've heard that lithium ion batteries are sensitive to charging systems. I really don't know, but up for learning new stuff. Stay safe

These are a lithium iron. I'm not sure exact what the difference is between lithium ion & lithium iron. That's why I'm asking about them. I know these are supposed to be less sensitive to cold temperatures. They are warranted for 3 years.
