I have an 04 Pitbull and it has the newer EHC in it when I bought it and it is still working fine but I am considering going over to wire plus system is there any alternatives than wire plus or pdm?

I also figure I could sell the ehc , what are they worth , I believe I have seen them for around 350 used?

There is the M-Unit. A quick search will turn up the threads. FWIW, I did the WP on my Pit during the rebuild. Not one hiccup to date, unless you count the headlamp burning out completely and shutting the bike down...? Run the current EHC till it craps out (if it ever does) and then put in the WP. Keep the WP on the shelf till ya need it. Just a thought.

I like that idea but let me ask , when I go to start the bike I press the start button and it will turn for a few seconds and then stop so I push the button again and it turns again it will do this until it starts , is that normal or should it just keep turning like my Harleys used to?

Also what should I expect to happen if and when the ehc goes??

Maybe I should put up another posting with these questions?

Could be ya got a switch that needs a cleaning, or maybe a slightly loose connection somewhere? When or IF the EHC dumps it can be any combination of weird things. My Pit started acting odd one day when I started it, took iff and got 6 blocks from the house and it totally died. No nothing. I had planned to tear it down for paint anyway so in went the WP. No problems since. I don't even keep it on a tender....that will bite me in the ass one day I 'm sure but the WP is doing great.

Looks like Im going to take your advise and check and clean all the connections and also clean and use some die electric grease on the ehc and ride it and if it goes it goes , Im interested in finding out more about the m-unit though.

why are you changing out your EHC, I think most still have originals -I have over 37000 miles no problems - except for early days when bigdog had to do some reprogramming. remember the problem you hear - here are a small amount of the dogs out there.

Big Dog Is making one for the 04 Dogs. Should be out in Feb but not sure if you want to stick with Big Dog on a new Product. I am when it comes out.

After reading some threads I was worried about the ehc going out on me is the reason I wanted to change over but after listening to you people I believe Im just going to ride it and enjoy it and if it goes then I will deal with it and its an 04 pitbull but it has the newer ehc in it , the guy I bought it from said he had problems when it was under warrenty and the dealer put the newer one in so maybe Im good to go anyway, thanks for advise and now I will say the 500 plus I was going to spend on the wire plus, lol
