Best set of tires?

I have the Avon Venom 250/40R/18 81V Rear and 90/90/21 54H on my Chopper now. I have no Clue what the R after the 40 means or 81V and also the 54H on the front. I really like the Avon Cobra look better but it says AV72 and I am not sure what I should get. Also, any suggestions on the best tire out there? I really screwed things up hitting that tire on the freeway and now I need to replace my front forks and my rear shocks because I did a good amount of damage to them. Where would be a good place to buy a new set of forks and anyone know what size the 2003 Chopper needs? I wonder what I can buy, something that looks better than what I have is what I am hoping for.:cheers:

might want to have your rims checked to see if you bent them. alot of people are going with the metzlers now.. progressive on the shocks. goolge motorcycle front ends and you should get a bunch of hits.how fast were you going when you hit the tire? Just curious. is your insurance covering some or most of this?

These numbers are tire size, load capacity and speed rating. Go to Avontyre.com and click on motorcycle tires and they have charts that explain all tire sizes. (Only thing they don't explain is why their tires don't last or get any mileage!!!):D

Dude, you're lucky you didn't do a large amount of damage to yourself hitting a tire or portion of one while riding. :eek: This is a good opportunity to remind everyone about the 12 second rule - look 12 seconds ahead so you can avoid surprises. And stay far enough back from anyone directly ahead of you so that you have time to react to something you cannot see - at least 2 seconds. Ride safe all :cheers:

BDM has the forks on sale I just bought a complete set for 05 mastiff 299.00 all I had to do was fill them with oil.

I was doing 65mph, it flew into my lane so no matter how far behind the car I was it didn't matter, It came from the other lane. Where can I get the BDM Forks on sale?
