How can you not have a spare sitting around?
I go through a new rear every 4k-6k miles (at least 4 tires/year).

I ALWAYS have a new rear sitting at home for the "bad" days. You should do this also.

Sounds about right. A 330 back tire lasts on average 5,000 miles.

I ride a lot...

I have had several blowouts at high speeds (need a new tire due to the puncture), had several that just wore out (pretty crappy traction when you don't have much tread).

And of course, the tire does seem to spin some, just not intentionally doing a burnout, just keeping up with the pack.

I have NEVER been able to go more than 7000 miles on a back tire.

Wow, You make me feel bad too! Mine is a 2004 and has the "Original" back tire, I replaced the front last summer cause it was dry rotting. Oh , but I barely have over 4,000 on it. No burn outs, I hammer the entrance ramp at times on the interstate, the only gravel it ever sees is my daughter's driveway. I mainly just country road tooling around.

thanks for the tip on the tire,i will be due for one in about 5k. have been getting 12k out of the venoms,the cobra i have now has been just as good so far

I picked up a used Avon Venom at a local swap meet for $30.00. Tire has lots of tread left. Just hope it holds air!!

You're all spoiled. Do a few track days on a sport bike then you'll feel MUCH better about getting several thousand miles on a tire.

I bought mine there MAN, and it was 2010 production year tire, not old crap aged on a shelf. BEST DEAL AROUND imo.
