Best performance air cleaner for the stock 117

I have researched on this site about air cleaners and there are quite a few to choose from but I have a question.

Which one is the best bang for the buck regarding pure "results" from a performance perspective?

I was quoted $1500 for a S&S Dual Runner installed with re-jetting included.

But then I see the Hypercharger PRO version for just $300 bucks (not installed).

What is the way to go if you are just looking to enhance performance but could care less about "pretty". I don't want ugly either.

Any opinions or details are appreciated.

I'd perform a search on said subject. There's quite a few on here using the Dual Runner and IMHO $1500 is ridiculous ....Order it online, install it and rejet yourself and save $1000+ ......
It'll take ya maybe three hours ... Jet size I'm sure has been discussed on here...

You have an S&S system and it's about the best your going to get. All the rest are eye candy

Velocity stack with a screen for nothing but performance. I wouldn't run it on the street though. Even with a 100 mesh screen. I've seen 100 mesh sand and wouldn't want it in my motor.

Neil has it right. Mod the stocker, or .........................
The BEST, HIGHEST FLOWING air cleaner out of the box is: Kuryakyn Hi-Five Mach 2. :2thumbs:
The earlier Hi-Five air cleaners, also are just as good. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the feedback. I thought $1500 bucks for the S&S Dual Runner installed was a bit high myself. No better time than the present to learn how to work on my mechanical skills. I really need some extra boost on the bike but don't want to go broke to get it.

I appreciate the information.

OK, I have to ask the obvious question. Why isn't the S&S Dual Runner intake the best performing intake filter setup? I mean, S&S did created it and we have S&S motors.

I just looked at the Wimmer stuff. I likey. If all are equal then for pure looks I like the Wimmer or the Mach 2 and of course the Dual Runner.

I wish I had more money.
I have the wimmer. I've nothing bad to say about it. At all. I'm putting down good numbers as well with a not so great exhaust.
