I owned a detail shop in my area where we would get a lot of German imports and high end American autos for resale . I learned a lot while I had that business on how to make imperfections go away or appear to go away .
When it comes to billet i really used to try everything out there that was the latest and greatest , but i always ended up back with mothers .
When i started reading this forum i started trying wizards , white diamonds , diamond brite truck box , wickeds , mr buffer and every other thing out there . Guess what im back to mothers .
If your like me and have bought all these latest polishes , try this . Get you about a dozen beer or soda cans turn them over and polish the bottoms for about 2 minutes on each can with a different product that and see which does the best job . I have done this . I dont know of a product better than mothers . It seems to me that most of the other products leave tiny fine scratches . Look at the bottom of the cans in dim light , you will see what im talking about . Just my 2 cents

I'm going to have to agree with you on everything you said, I have tried all the stuff you mentioned, and I actually just tried the Mr. Buffer.

My experience is the Mr. Buffer went on easy, but the results really were not that impressive at all, at least for me.

I was using Mothers before this, and I am going back to Mothers.

There is no doubt that the other products do a great job of cleaning , but i also think they have a tendency to not put on the FINISH that mothers does .
I think a lot of people out there use way to much pressure , and it seems like its more work with mothers . Ease up on the pressure and watch how mothers finishes the job . :)

Sorry, gotta disagree with the mothers. In my experience, and not only with this bike, I had a 4x4 truck with aluminum wheels and Mr Buffer runs circles around Mothers... To each his own though... Mr Buffer is were Ill be... If you dont want yours send it to me, Ill take it off your hands...

where can you get the wizards products? i'm in south fla.
I am not in South Florida, ( only in my dreams :D ), Where can it be found below the Mason Dixon Line? R&B just has Victory which is good, but always looking for something better, ya know!

I am in the middle of doing my back wheel with the Mother's cone ( wish it was on the stem like the ball), using Mother's Mag and aluminum polish(it looks a bit grittier than the billett polish, smells the same). It is bringing them back out like new again, but it takes time, patience, high speed drill, and lots of clean rags.

Oh, use those blue rubber gloves putting this polish on, not just your finger. The polish will shine the crap out of the wheels but will leave the skin numb, dry, stinking, and sore. Not that I did this but :D I am aware of someone who did!

I have tried them all as a lot of people have as well. My vote goes to Adams metal polish.

Metal polish 1 is really good as removes light scratches and leaves the surface just as good as the any other product. Adams metal polish 2 just brings the polish to the next level and more shine than any other product I have used. I found now i only need to use Adams metal polish 2 to maintain that showroom finish every few months or so.

the first spot is mojo that I got from a truck driver when I was in Sturgis
the second spot is mr buffer
the third spot is cotton batting soaked in some crap I got at auto zone
the fourth is mothers mag polish
the fifth is mothers metal polish
sorry about the picture its raining blah blah
the mojo works awesome mirror shine with some elbow grease
the mr buffer works awesome mirror shine with minimal work
the rest even with buffing ball I couldn't get it to match the mojo or mr buffer that I did by hand. im gonna do the entire pontoons now lol

I don't know about you guys but I'm into riding while keeping my bikes clean, tight and looking good. Maybe when I was younger I needed to have the perfect shine but no so now. I use Blue Magic on the chrome and billet, fantastic for me. Quick, painless, not a lot of work and looks like chrome when I'm finished. Paint is different, I buff the paint on all my bikes (cars) once a year and then use Meguiars Quick detail for the upkeep. Good luck. Seems like we have plenty of options to pick from on the forum. This is a good thread..
