I bought my 09 Mastiff new from Strokers. Happy with my purchase their but when I had a few questions regarding the performance of my new bike the service dept. just told me to ride it!
They did my 500 mile service and I still had questions regarding backfiring, and topping out in first and second gear. Again they said it was fine and "just ride it".

I am NOT a mechanic but I pretty sure my bike is not running at it's peak performance as set up? I would like it to be put on a Dino and have it "Dialed". Just have that gut feeling that The guys at Strokers are not really that motivated to Dial in my bike.... They did rejet when I put on my VH BR pipes but like I said, I don't think it's perfect. I could start messing with it myself, but I would rather pay someone who could do in an hour what it would take me days (if ever) to figure out.

I fly jets for a living, have a side business, and raise two boys so when I have the rare free time, I want to ride my bike knowing it is dialed in..

Ah, well I purchased my pit with Strokers as well. Since I am deployed, I have yet to take delivery on it. I am having them do a few things to the bike while I am away so I will be able to see first hand how their work turns out. So far, they have been nothing but great to me and it has been a pleasure working with them. I'll keep ya posted on the finished product.

I don't think Strokers has a dyno, so I believe they just put what the instructions say as far as jets.

I have a tech I like in Carrollton. They have a dyno, but a long bike will not fit on it.

PM me if you want the Tech's info.

I'm not a mechanic either but how many miles do you have on the bike? I wouldn't think you would want to dyno it during breakin would you??? I guess that is a really a quesiton :D

I wouldn't think topping it out and not being broke in is good either. There's special break in procedures to follow. Follow them or void your warranty... Just saying! :D

Tech suggested waiting for 2500 miles. I think S&S suggests 1000 miles.

Getting jet suggestions from this forum for your config will get you close. Then you or your tech can fine tune it to your riding style. (MPG, power, whatever ....)

Hey everyone.... Thanks for the replies.

Gerry, I do remember you and I will check out the Dallas Chop Shop. Thanks!

I have 1500 miles on the bike now. As far as my choice of words... "topping out". I probably should of said... in first and second gear, the RPM tops out at only 2500-3000 rpm like hitting a wall which I am pretty sure that is indicative of a jet issue?

Again

Thanks all!

John
